Frog mating calls everywhere

For the past few days, we have been having heavy rains in Chennai. When there are rains, all we hear are Frog mating calls everywhere. It usually happens for a day or two but this time this is going on and on for more than a week. My mother used to say that if there are continuous Frog calls, that means that the rain is not over yet. Frogs usually make their mating calls only if they are confident that the next few days will be wet and enough water bodies available for them to bring the next generation
