That one day of cooking, well, technically those couple days of cooking, means the big meal itself mid afternoon, a late night snack that night, often turkey sandwiches left for days, sometimes, leftover turkey dinners, too. I also send home a bunch of leftovers to each of my in-laws, visiting for the day. So, all in all, that meal feeds a lot. turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potato, Yams, Squash, Brussels Sprouts, and more...
After day6 of Turkey and whatever for leftover meals, we all agree, ENOUGH is Enough! Even Tucker, who, shockingly jumped onto the table to see what we were eating.
And so has Tucker...
Not sure if you can see the brown paper bag
he's mostly sitting on, but over the last two days, he has taken to eating/tearing it. He carries it around, lately.
I couldn't do it, any longer... NO MORE Leftover TURKEY. THE BROTH form the boiled down carcass is in the Freezer (about a gallon and a half - 6 liters). So, I ran out to the store, after spending the day working on Printing for my photography. I needed something NOT Turkey.
Tonight's dinner? Red as can be, Sirloin tips, rare. Along with some Rice Pilaf, and some Asparagus w/ Sea Salt and Olive Oil. The smiles, the simple murmurs of mmm, good tell me, perhaps, the rest of the family is happy, too!
I believe this with my heart.
