Airways Flight 1549 on the Hudson River on January 15, 2009. The Airbus A320, carrying 155 passengers and crew, took off from LaGuardia Airport in New York City bound for Charlotte, North Carolina. Shortly after takeoff, the plane struck a flock of Canada geese, causing both engines to fail due to severe bird strikes. This event led to a loss of engine power, leaving the aircraft in a perilous situation.

With no engine thrust and limited altitude, Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger and First Officer Jeffrey Skiles quickly assessed their options.
