Hehe 🤙🙈 Yes, @drutter is right... You have to reduce it, otherwise the votes are worth nothing.
Try the following (that is what I am doing now): 10% upvotes for posts and 5% upvotes on comments. Then check your voting power the next days. It should recover then...

That would work, but keep in mind at 5%, your fee is higher than the upvote you're giving. It's like buying a $5 sandwhich and paying $18 in taxes. Or a $5 item on eBay with $18 shipping. If you would just give 0% (no upvote) for 48 hours, you would have full voting power again! And you will never again deplete your voting power, because you'll know how much of your money and growth you're throwing right in the garbage. Never give out votes to anyone unless you are over 90% voting power. It tells your voting power right in the upvote popup, so there is no excuse to ever do it unless you are over 90%.
Hold off votes for 2 days, and from then on, you'll be growing many times faster than before!

Good morning mate! The fee doesn't bother me... 👍😉 Can I now count on your vote?

Your local Blurt representative!🤬

I guess I’m not that bothered as my vote is worth under10 c when I’m at like 50 c a vote I will start being a bit more careful

Yeah, but it will take you a long time to grow to a size you consider worthwhile being efficient, if you throw away all your income and growth. Voting when your power is below 90% is ridiculous... might as well be blogging at Wordpress or something. If you want to earn crypto and help others earn crypto, you have to keep your voting power near 100%. You are just wasting all those clicks you do, several times a day... curation is pointless if you have no voting power because you curate indiscriminately. Curation is supposed to be thoughtful, careful, and purposeful. If you vote everything you're not helping identify good content, which is the purpose of curation. That's why it is set to punish people like you who aren't careful with your clicks! Just letting you know. This is curation 101 very basic stuff.

I don’t actually rly know that much about curation tbh maybe you can explain a bit more the mathematics behind it as I honestly have no idea. I just rly feel till I have a 50 c vote or something I am better just helping ppl get seen and engaging with them than really thinking about curation rewards on 7 c vote. But do correct me if I’m wrong as I’ve never rly had anyone explain it. I see a lot of good content as come on often browse and upvote and reshare, I don’t feel I ever just upvote anything I only upvote what I think is great imo etc I guess I see the vote as like moral support till it’s actually worth something decent but interested to hear more. @petrapurple @wanderlust7

I have been teaching @outofthematrix this also... everybody needs to know, especially minnows! This is not just for people with large stakes. Because your growth is severely stunted if you don't do this... you'll always be a minnow. #letsgrowblurt

As you know, Blurt differs from traditional blog sites in that micropayments of cryptocurrency are used to incentivize high quality content. Every vote you make costs you a fee, generates a payout for the recipient, and makes the content more visible/viral. Voting is our main power on this blockchain (posts, comments, and muting are the others), so voting properly is vital.

The size of your vote is determined by 2 variables. You want your vote as high as possible, so you want these variables as high as possible:

  • how much BLURT Power you have
  • your Voting Power (the popup shows your current Voting Power % before you finalize each vote)

You already know how to get more BP.... power up your BLURT. Buy more and earn more, then power up. The more money you have invested in the platform, the more powerful you are and the more you count. (Like it or not that's how it works.) They don't call it "powering up" for nothing!

As for getting higher Voting Power, it's free, you just have to wait. It increases at a rate of 20% per day (just under 1% per hour). Each full vote (if you give 100% of your vote) costs 2% of your Voting Power. It takes 2.4 hours for your Voting Power to recover after giving a full vote. So if you're at 100% Voting Power, and you give somebody a full upvote, you'll then be at 98%. You can vote again right away, going down to 96%, or you can pause a couple hours and let your Power recover. There's some strategy involved.

If you're at 100%, all of your upvote counts toward the payout. But if you're at 90%, only 90% of your upvote will count, and the other 10% is lost (burned/deleted). If you're at 50%, you're throwing away half of all your upvotes. And so on. The other day when I talked to @outofthematrix about it, he was wasting almost his entire vote! Hopefully he has recovered to nearly full by now, through abstaining (or only giving out fractions of a full vote).

Once your Voting Power gets back to 100%, it can't get any higher, so at that point you do need to find something to vote on. In an ideal world, you'd vote exactly at 99.99% Voting Power every time, but obviously we can't do that, so just do your best. I try and keep mine about 90% at all times.

When I'm at 100%, if I give out full votes, they're worth about 20 BLURT each. That's because I have 241k BP. You have about 75k, so once you're at full Power your full votes will be about 6 BLURT (15 cents). That means you can give out 1.5 USD every day. And rising. How fast that rises depends on how efficient you are with curation, among other things. Even at your level, not throwing away your votes is a good idea! You (and those around you on the blockchain) will grow faster that way.

Votes are a kind of "moral support" too, you're definitely right.

Very good run down of how things work with the voting. I try to keep mine above 80% but it's a challenge.

You're well connected here, now... you have lots of friends and know a lot of people already. So I imagine you have plenty of good content to choose from, and it's tough to keep yourself Powerful! At least you understand the importance, though. It's always a struggle : )

Rock'n half a million BP doesn't hurt either! hahaha, you have an impressive stash yourself. Blurt at 10 cents, really puts us in the driver seat here....how about at a dollar. I can be the new markyskidmark of Blurt lol

That should have been a post mate!!!! 😂 What I understood is that if my voting power is at 50%, the other half is going into the garbage can.... 👍🏽

Yes.
It's confusing because your Voting Power can drop to 50% (like yours has, because you voted on everything you agreed with)... but you can also give 50% (or any other percentage). They are different. When your Voting Power is down, you're throwing money away. But when you give 50% of an upvote, you're not burning the other half, you're just holding it back.
So if my votes are worth 40 cents each right now, and I'm at full Power, I could give somebody a full 40 cent upvote, or I could give two people a 20 cent half (50%) upvote. In both cases my Voting Power would be reduced to 98%.
Low Voting Power is very bad.
Giving a low percentage/portion of a full vote is fine. Sometimes I do 50% for comments that are good but not exceptional. Sometimes 25% for smaller comments. Nothing is being wasted when you do that. Although, keep in mind there's a fee for each vote, so if you're doing really small upvotes (like 1%) then the upvote is going to be worth less than it costs to do. Small 1% upvotes are okay on Hive for everyone, but on Blurt they're probably only best for people with 100k+ BP.
Main thing is KEEP YOUR VOTING POWER AS CLOSE TO 100% AS YOU CAN! Always!

Yeah it rly should be a post. I rly spent 5 years not really knowing it was that important lol

ok👍😉

I just feel who cares if it’s 7 c or 4 c lol rly I would rather just interact with ppl when it gets to 50 c I feel it matters a bit more to be more tactical maybe
