This is not to serve as an excuse, but just because I want to make an update.
Unsure why, but after some time this sort of "hang" happens to the node, and it doesn't respond anymore after such a long time running without any sort of downtime.
Maybe it's something around the rest of the stuff I have running alongside it... unknown. What I will do is, perform more regular restarts and validate if it does not happen anymore... if it doesn't, then it's because it's probably a race condition or leak.
Either way... I am up again! Sorry for the few missed blocks, as the weeks have been very very busy!
Going to HiveFest?
If you are around and you don't yet know I am going to HiveFest 2024, in Split, then look for it. Especially if you live around Croatia, I think it's both an opportunity for you and for me, to find and know people who wish to be more active here than on the Hive Blockchain.
I am not going to make a fuss about it, you decide what you want and where you want to be at! Remember, this all started on "damn... I am mining BTC with my CPU!" Then GPU, then FPGAs, then ASICs... and then multiple ASICs! Now... probably reaching the point where we are close to say, it might become an architecture. Who knows...
The point is, that everyone involved in blockchain technology has a role to fit... and fighting around like the old days is not going to do anyone any better. Just look at society for example... everyone is fricking crazy!
And I live in a very privileged place, to be honest... so I consider myself lucky!
Anyhow, happy to keep coming around to check how things are. If you guys share or release new apps here, tag me... I always enjoy to learn and test new stuff!
Hey.. great to see you on Blurt again….. I never did set up a Node on Steemit, Blurt or Hive but I am now Mining Bitcoin with this little $135 BitAxe Solo Miner on 13 watts of power … I can set it to mine on Public Pool or Ocean to hit a Block every 10 minutes … 3.125 Bitcoin … or use Braiins Pool to collect about 50 Satoshi a day. Pretty amazing small Mining Tech that you can run on regular house power or even a 20 watt Solar Panel.
Solar Mining with the $135 BitAxe : https://blurt.blog/blurt-166617/@offgridlife/738we2-solar-mining-for-bitcoin-with-the-bitaxe-supra-and-nerdminer
I saw that one... quite cool, and they are just gonna get more efficient. Some day, it will be an option (app) on commodity watches, phones, etc... just a matter of efficiency, etc..
I used miners in the past to dry laundry in winter... it worked quite well but was just too noisy. So, having stuff that can dissipate a lot more energy via quieter or passive cooling, will be an important feature for people to adopt more.
Yes… I also run a $20 Nerdminer on 1 watt of power …. Gives me a chance to mine a Block (3.125 Bitcoin) every 10 minutes… also on Solar
The 1Watt thing is very easy to attach to a solar battery and leave somewhere on the roof...
