The correct response would have been, "sorry I didn't mention you", he is the author of the app after all, without which you wouldn't have a post, so the grown up thing, would be to apologize for the nastiness and vitriol, because obviously you ain't the mature one in this situation what so ever, levels beyond rude.

Huh? Every time you post about a new app that comes from the community especially, you should definitely mention the person responsible for the app. How obtuse are you to suggest that it compares at all to 'mentioning twitters founders every time you post content from twitter'? Grow up indeed.
