Thriving through a Symbiotic Equilibrium
Symbiont{s} | Now Is the Right Time to Vote for the Return Proposal
Greetings,
Similar to what can be found on other chains. The goal of having a Return Proposal is to prevent proposals that have little to no approval from actually receiving funding, the Return Proposal also plays a major role in preventing malign actors from using the DAO and the community needs to do its best to police the funding process. In general, users should exercise due diligence before voting for any proposal by properly investigating each proposal they are willing to vote for and making sure that the proposal is not an elaborated way to siphon BLURT from the DAO, or funding projects that will negatively affect BLURT, or are heavily commercial projects that are not open source and add no value to the Blurt ecosystem as a whole. The DAO in general should not be used for experimentation and chameleon-arism but rather for carefully studied proposals with clear goals that are based on empirically verifiable outputs. The Return proposal should be frozen in place later to ensure that neither the creator nor anyone else can tamper with it. People also need to know that the Return Proposal will automatically send the BLURT back to the DAO, so no one is taking profit from it and there is no middle man.
To vote for the Return Proposal, please head to the Blurt proposal page on ECS (WhaleVault is required) and vote for the Return Proposal created by @symbionts.
The Symbionts Team,
Yes! It’s important to vote for the return proposal and to understand what it means to do so.
I have already voted for the return proposal. I voted for it soon after it was created.
Can you explain that part ?
Yes.
The receiver for the return proposal is @blurt.dao. So any funding that goes to that proposal just goes back into the DAO.
The funding on the return proposal is set super-high, so it sends all of the left-over funds back to the DAO so that any proposal that is below it doesn't receive any funds. It's a way to vote against proposals. If there are proposals that you think don't deserve funding, you can vote for the return proposal in order to put it higher up and push the proposals that shouldn't receive funding below the return proposal. If there are proposals below the return proposal that you think deserve funding, you can unvote the return proposal and vote on the proposal that is lower in order to push it above the return proposal.
Ok, I get that. Now, please tell me. Will that 100 a day change or not ? I mean 100 blurt is not that much for any proposal I would say. I counted that's about 3000 blurt a month, what's now about $18. I usually mean when we create proposals we expect better funding. Or maybe I'm just mistaken and that's not only 100 blurt that could be accepted if a proposal is approved. My proposal is asking for example 5500 a day. Another one I've seen 2000 a day. Can you make this clear please ?
I don't understand the question about 100 a day.
When you create a proposal, you put in what you would like to receive as a daily pay. People will vote based on whether they think you should receive that amount. If you get approved, ie. your proposal is above the return proposal, you will receive the amount you asked for each day that your proposal is above the return proposal. If it goes up and down, you might not receive funding each day, depending on if your proposal is above or below the return proposal.
I see now. I was talking about this : https://ecosynthesizer.com/blurt/proposals
Look here :
Yeah. I'm not sure what that is, but it can't be right. There is more than 103.409 BLURT in the daily budget.
I thought that's 103. So, that's 103 thousands ? If that the case, it should be written as 103,000.
