Thriving through a Symbiotic Equilibrium
Ecosynthesizer | Upkeep Proposal

Greetings,

As we have previously stated, our approach to any new ecosystem is through a lens of mutual interest and understanding that for an ecosystem to thrive, several basic rules of fundamental entropy must exist; otherwise, the ecosystem will eventually collapse or go extinct. But why is this important? And can we truly approach this with what may be perceived as a framework from a foreign field of study? The idea of creating a perfectly closed ecosystem is very challenging. As an example, the Biosphere 2 experiment that ran from 1991 to 1993 demonstrated how hard it can be to set up a closed ecosystem with all the needed intricacies and infinitesimal requirements and variables for a perfect natural feedback loop to happen. Any sustainable ecosystem relies on those basic fundamentals. If growth is to be created, that conversion of energy or value in this case, needs to unfold into a consistent back input to fuel the growth. The thing is, for a perfect loop to happen, a natural selection based on hostilities needs to happen, which is reflected in the idea that some actors in a specific ecosystem will have to use other actors as well to feed themselves or cultivate value. Which is the thing that brings us to the following point.

The most challenging thing about Blurt is that there is no aspect related to an enforced selection. This is really challenging. It means that a path towards something that would have an intrinsic value would need to find a balance between how value is being converted and distributed and how the theoretical loop is being enforced or encouraged. An actor in a specific ecosystem could simply profit from the conversion of value but stays away from providing any contribution to sustainability. The rules within an ecosystem, which in our case are defined by code, tend to play a role in enforcing a pattern of behaviors. According to Blurt, individual actors' survival behaviors are naturally wired toward patterns that favor a specific set of actions. But while this may seem natural and falls within a right that is enforced by the code, we cannot but realize that even in the aim of creating a perfect biosphere, there are imperfections, and maybe this would require something other than the default behavior that focusses on hyper-individualism.

This brings us to 2 main things. The first one is freedom, and the second one is hope. Despite the freedom to pursue more profitable endeavors, one could choose a different path for the greater good. While it could be seen as something that only naive people do, we believe that true naivety is expecting an ecosystem that goes against the law of thermodynamics to survive. The second thing is hope. It is what drives everyone's motivation, regardless of how harmful or beneficial their actions are. It means that there is something worth fighting for.

Of all easy paths that could ease the accumulation of wealth on Blurt, we decided to go for the hardest path, but a path that we believe in and reflects who we are as human beings . . . and we hope that the community will understand our vision and support our proposal to ease some of our operations and cover some expenses.

What have being done so far?

  1. Blurt Blockchain Implementation
  2. Blurt Related Upgrades
  3. Minor Changes
  4. Posts Page
  5. Posts & Comments Viewer
  6. Rewards Option
  7. Major Upgrade
  8. Major Upgrade (Create Posts, Viewer, WhaleVault)

It has been a long journey, thousands of lines of code, testing, upgrading, and constant tweaking. Things were not always easy, but at the end of the day, it is an added experience that we hope will keep levering to improve the products that we are providing and stay loyal to the community and our standards of quality. The Blurt explorer started as a simple project, but thanks to the persistence and sheer force of will of our resilient team, the explorer can now be used to almost do everything that a lambda user would want or need to do.

Funding Request

The funding will be used on several aspects of the projects, to mention but not limited to: servers cost, server management, monitoring, hardware upgrade and optimization, code maintenance, testing, debugging, updating, working on new features, and providing support . . . we also would like to use and provide a dedicated API for the project to 1. provide more redundancy and 2. deal with hiccups related to API nodes performances and availability. For this, we would like to ask for a 2,777 BLURT per day which amounts to (UPDATED) ~11 USD per day and ~333 USD per month (The price Of BLURT could go lower or higher in the future, so people need to take this into consideration when evaluating). Funding starts in July. Even with this budget, we can still expect that a lot of voluntary work would still be required and covered from our end, but it is something that will help a bit without putting any pressure on the DAO.

Hi, recently chatted with two users who kept getting errors when trying to create a proposal.
Perhaps, as this is itself a proposal, you can formally create it, even on your own platform it may give you the opportunity to see where such errors could come from. Maybe some of the fields could be clearer, eg I suspect few users know what a permlink is - and can be guided to copy it from their post page details as shown on Ecosynthesizer.

Hi, @rycharde,

We did not face any issues while using the tool to create a proposal, it could be indeed something related to how the data was entered. You can link our announcement post to them which explains in-depth how to create a proposal. If they are still facing issues, they can directly reach us on discord and we will make sure to assist them and investigate the situation further.

Thank you for passing by,
