Thriving through a Symbiotic Equilibrium
Ecosynthesizer | Minor Upgrade (General improvements)
Greetings!
We have been working lately on some improvements that we thought are necessary, especially after that the last Blurt hard fork that introduced new concepts and tweaked others. We also used this chance to implement a few things that were requested before, in addition to a few other things that might not be apparent immediately but could be helpful in certain circumstances. So without no further ado, below is a simple rundown of the changes.
More information on the main page
1- Proposal fee.
2- Inflation percentage.
3- BP APR.
4- Power Down.
5- Chain configuration table.
6- Chain property table.
More filtering options on the account page
1- "decline_voting_rights"
.
2- "account_witness_proxy"
.
3-"witness_set_properties"
.
4- "report_over_production"
.
5- "change_recovery_account"
.
- Some operations were never used on Blurt such as
"report_over_production"
since it was disabled in HF04 on Steem, but we decided to include it nonetheless, and hope that the issue that caused the operation to be disabled could be solved one day on Blurt to several penalize double signers.
More information on the witness page
1- Added the proposal fee parameter.
2- Added a block decay indicator for the top 20.
- We have obviously exaggerated the penalty for testing purposes. We also only tied the penalty to the top 20 for performance purposes. For the above example, if a top 20 witness is 10 blocks behind the head block, the account will be highlighted. The goal here is to just facilitate the detection of witnesses at the top who are heavily messing blocks.
3- Raised the number of witnesses shown.
- The total number of witnesses on Blurt is less than 300, but we decided to cap it to 200 for performance purposes, still we might even lower it to 100 as before if the page becomes too slow for the y user.
More information on the Nodes page
1- Added an indicator that warns if some node operators are only redirecting their domain to an existing node.
- This was done based on a request from the community since some actors stated that they are providing Seed/API nodes when in reality there were just redirecting to other existing nodes.
More information on the account page
1- Withdraw routes now show the output nature (BLURT or BP).
2- Proposal fee added to the witness information table.
Tweaks on the proposal creation page
- Capped time to 2 years as per code rule (fetched via API).
- Switched from
get_config
tochain_properties
to get the proposal fee. - Users are linked to a tutorial page on proposal creation.
Aethetics and UI
1- Several changes on UI, rounded some corners, fixed some tables, numbering rules ...
Thank you,
The Symbionts Team,
The nodes that show up as the same IP on the RPC nodes page are not redirecting to
rpc.blurt.world
. They show the same IP address because they all proxy through Cloudflare's CDN. They are separate RPC nodes running on different machines. I can guarantee for sure thatkentz.blurt.world
andrpc.blurt.world
are different machines, because I'm the one who manages the DNS for theblurt.world
domain. And I'm pretty sure @actifit run their own node as well. But they all show up as the same IP because you're seeing the IP for Cloudflare's CDN proxy for your region.change_recovery_account
works on Blurt since the beginning and it also works on Steem. That's one of the first thing I did when Blurt was launched. I changed my recovery account to @saboin.recovery. It takes 30 days to take effect when you change it.
I have also changed it to @saboin.recovery on Steem right after the Hive split. And it's set to saboin.recovery on Hive as well.
Hi, @saboin,
That is true.
Seems like we made a mistake since we were talking about "report_over_production"`.
We should have also mentioned that we tweaked things up for testing purposes as well on the nodes page.
However, we will surely investigate to the situation to make sure that the data shown is correct.
Thank you for passing by,
Nice work, as always! 🙏
