Greetings!
We are more than happy to finally announce the open testing for the communities upgrade that will be implemented in the official Blurt condenser that is currently powering Blurt.blog. The task was more challenging than anticipated, but we managed nonetheless to complete the initial goals.
Wallet: https://wallet.symbionts.io
The wallet
Users can now create communities by using WhaleVault or the active key. Creating a community requires a fee, in addition to an additional fee to set the creator as an initial admin for the newly created communities. Considering that transactions on Blurt requires a fee, creating a community needs a bit more time compared to similar chains.
- Create a community by using WhaleVault
- Create a community by using the active key
The condenser (Blogging Platform)
Communities add whole new features that the community can explore and take advantage of. As already mentioned before, consider communities as something similar to Facebook groups and subreddits. Below are some videos that explain the aspects of communities from the perspective of users and admins.
- Subscribe and create a post inside a community
- Add moderators to your community
- Mute users
- Pin and unpin posts
- Set custom roles
How to provide feedback or report bugs
- To ease replicability, be as detailed as possible when providing feedback.
- For sensitive intel, reach us on Discord at

.
Open testing will last as long as there are issues to fix. Other than that. The project will be delivered.
Thank you,
The Symbionts Team,
Now we have Separate place for pakistanis
a super important breakthrough. A quick query. Is there a way to modify the information of the communities? to be able to update the name, the owners or administrators? information related to the community?
Hi, @freakeao,
Yes, you can use the edit function located here:
thanks, great job.
This is fantastic! This way more Blurtians will find spaces of common interest facilitating interaction between them, it also allows content to be categorized for easy access and reading enjoyment. Thanks for this great work!
I think proper tagging is what allows content to be categorized for quick access : )
It is true but sometimes labels are not used properly, it is all a matter of educating in the ecosystem 😀
A great initiative and if we continue to take initiatives like this, we hope this platform will go much further. All will then work properly to strengthen the community. I would like to see this platform in the land of the moon as well as I myself will be sharing properly written and creative content.
Thanks again to those who are working hard for this platform and bringing awesome updates.
We are going higher everyday
Blurt Go Go Go 🚀 🚀🚀🚀🔥🔥🔥
Very happy to see the wheels in motion.
Looking forward to much more development in this new year!
Well done, and keep up the great work!

Bravo, the test net is on. Pls when will it be live?
It will be live once all the bugs have been ironed out.
You can help by using the test site and reporting any bug you encounter.

Is there supposed to be a communities tab somewhere? The video shows it in the wallet, but there's no such tab in my wallet.
You must access the wallet link where the test implementation is:

And once you login this option appears
Oh, thanks. I'm a bit nervous to hand out my private key to a website I'm not familiar with, so I'll have to miss out on the public testing.
EDIT: I tried to vote your comment, but there is no button. I've never seen that before on Blurt. What happened? I notice a red triangle beside your name, which says you have been accused of plagiarism. I've never seen that before, either. I wonder if the two things are related. Do you know what's going on?
Hi, @drutter,
If you are not comfortable using your keys, you can use WhaleVault instead.
Thank you,
I don't give my private keys to whalevault either.
I'm dismayed that Blurt has move to requiring participation with 3rd parties in order to function properly. That is not decentralization.
Hi, @drutter,
Using blurt.blog or any other platform to interact with the Blurt blockchain also means you are using a 3rd party solution to interact with the Blurt blockchain.
To completely remove this concern, you can spin off your version of WhaleVault or condenser to interact with the blockchain directly because they are both open source. You can also use CLI or any custom tool that you host on a machine that you own.
Other than that, you will have to trust 3rd party solutions to interact with the blockchain. If you do not have the competency to review such solutions. Then the least of what you can do is base your decisions on trusted community members who can audit said solutions.
This is actually decentralization. You do not need to trust anyone to interact with the blockchain.
Thank you,
