Symbiont{s} | Clarifications Regarding The Removed Return Proposal
Greetings!
Information is currently circulating that we intentionally removed the Return Proposal that we created before in order to secure the DAO. A user under the name of @mariuszkarowski has openly posted unfunded accusations stating that we removed the proposal to enrich ourselves. While this is far from the truth, we would like to provide a brief explanation of the situation as well as our will to put it on a public record:
1- We did not remove the Return Proposal. The proposal was removed by itself, we investigated the situation and provided some leads to the core team to investigate the bug further to be fixed in the next hard fork.
2- The good thing about blockchain is that everything is stored on the blockchain. Users with concerns can easily check account history to know if we really removed the proposal on x date. API can be directly used if anyone wants to check by himself without passing by the explorer.
We hope this will close the door to whoever is wanting to use unclear or unfunded information to spread FUD about this topic. We always operate in good faith with the community as we believe that there is a certain level of trust that needs to exist, but as pointed out by @practicalthought, it is always better to put clarifications on record to prevent actions to be misinterpreted or used for malign intentions.
Thank you,
The Symbionts Team,
This must be the first such case in history, blockchain used user's private key and removed his proposal, so user was able to collect double payments from the DAO.
About the return of collected BLURT I do not even ask, FUD OFF
lol shit happens
Hi,
You stated that we have removed the proposal.
You have been proved wrong. You can not have it both ways.
Thank you for showing us a screenshot from our explorer of data that we already know exists and can be accessed by everyone at any time.
Hi,
We may suggest learning more about blockchain technology first before learning about its history, because to understand the history and why things happen, you need to understand the different intricacies of how a blockchain functions.
You do not need the activation key for a proposal to be removed once it reaches the deadline for example. You only need a built-in logic to do the job.
The source code of the chain is also open source, you are welcome to exercise due elegance and audit it. We believe that this would be far better than just theorizing. Assuming that you are not able to audit the code yourself, you can go further by outsourcing the job to a 3rd party, then share your findings with the community.
Thank you,
