Deep Breathing for Wellness

There are many things that we can do for our wellness, A good diet, Yoga, Meditation, Exercise, Right amount of Sleep, Deep Breathing, all of these are some of the tools that will enhance our wellness. But from all of this personally I find Deep Breathing a very good tool for wellness, that does not mean that others are not important, a good diet is the most important one also.

What I like about Deep Breathing is that it expands my awareness. When I do my deep breathing I can feel my energy expand and spread out, I can feel my body releasing all the stress and tension that has been held up.
A 10 mins deep breathing at the beginning of the day opens up all our energy centers, and brings in new energy into us. When we are filled up with renewed energy we will function at our best, we will be mindful of the choices we make and the decisions we take for our wellbeing.

These are some of the very noticeable benefits of deep breathing.

  • It increases our breathing efficiency - A good deep breathing exercise will energize our whole breathing system. It will expand our lungs and improve our breathing capacity. Our breadth is our life energy, till the time it functions at the best we will be at our best, the moment our breadth starts going down, our life energy also starts going down.

  • Calms our Nervous system - When we do deep breathing we release a lot of stress and tension from our body, our nervous system also relaxes and calms down, which impacts our overall anatomy. We get better sleep when the mind is calm and relaxed , it will also aid in better digestion.

  • Energizes our mind and improves our mood - Try this if you are not in a very good mood and see how the shift happens, you will see that the thoughts will shift, will have a new perspective. A Hard deep breathing clears the clutter of the mind and when you finish you will see that the mind is completely relaxed.

  • Expands our awareness and raises our consciousness - When our mind and body is calm, it will work at it's optimal level. A good deep breathing followed with meditation will allow us to make a strong connection with our own self into our heart. We become receptive to our surroundings, we bring in mindfulness to our life, we bring in more and more things into our awareness. Our Breadth is our life, when that improves the overall experience of life improves.

If you are having a bad day, try doing a deep breathing for 10 to 15 mins and see how the mood shifts and the mind becomes light, as if there is a wash out and the mind is renewed.

These are some of the deep breathing techniques.
A slow and deep breathing brings in awareness and raises our consciousness, good to do it with meditation. The pattern of inhale, hold and exhale releases any stress and anxiety. Inhale with exhalation of double the time will calm down our nervous system and improve our sleep.

There are other very specialized deep breathing techniques also like the Wim Hof Retention, Holotropic Breath, CO2 Breath, Power Breadth, all of these are very good and they help in our wellbeing. But even if one does not want to follow these techniques and want to keep it simple, then a daily simple focused Deep Breathing exercise for 10 to 15 mins is also as equally helpful.

Personally for me deep breathing exercise helps me a lot in my overall wellbeing.
Our Breadth is our life and the quality of our breadth will decide the quality of our life. A good amount of Oxygen flow will do wonders to our body and we can also build a CO2 tolerance with practice.
