This shop Country Kitchen in historic Walpole (MA) has been here for 50+ years.

There is a crew of older guys with John Deer hats here most mornings,

and usually a full fledged soviet style donut-line on weekends.

These aren't the kind of donuts that are trying to be fancy little cakes,

but rather they are the original dank donuts from the 50s, intended to be served with coffee, the kind that comes in orange handles when decaffeinated.

...and where Sugar comes out of a giant shaker, and the purchaser is responsible for the sweet finesse of each cup.

This is a community donut hole. A true coffee shop.

Country Kitchen closes fairly early, and the locals know that in the later part of the day you get what you get and don't get upset.
