One of my favorite restaurants in the area, is Effies Kitchen in Boston's Roslindale square.
Roslindale is, or atleast was , a so -called sister city to Athens Greece. When the big revitalization project happened, converting Roslindale Square to the Village we all know and love,
a bust of Alexander the Great was even added right between the location of the Village Commuter Rail Station, and across from the community church, St Nectarious.
Greek Culture has been a significant part of the village tapestry for a very long time
The Vourous Bakery, previously located at the corner of Poplar and Washington was more or less World Famous as is to this day, The Roslindale Fish Market
My homie lived next to Vouros on Poplar for 10 or so years. .. Now we probably took as many bong hits, but it is safe to say that over the years, I took down literally thousands of those little round cookies covered in chocolate jimmies
Smoking lots of weed and eating Greek Food is something I have been doing my entire life.
Over at the fish market, I really love drinking these fruity little ice cold, glass bottle sodas.
plus the form factor supports my travel bong.
You have always been able to get amazing Gyro here, and Effie's Kitchen is keeping the tradition alive. My first Gyro came from the legendary Governor's Pizza on Washington and Cornell, which was very good and set the bar pretty high for sure.

and no diss on the former gov.s, but Effie's takes the sandwich to a honubba level. I am always impressed the overall quality of the food here,

as they are always remarkably fresh and flavorful, and of course, prepared traditionally.
I am also a huge fan of souvlaki. To quote something About Mary, I dont think there's enough meat on sticks.
A few years ago I started getting Souvlaki instead of gyro more often than not, however,
I still enjoy a gyro every now and again, especially when I'm at Greek Octoberfest at St. Nectarious.
Yassou!
Effies Kitchen Highly Recommended
