Ian is right about freeing the code. We are talking open source. Ian is correct. The problem is he is doing a bad job at explaining what he is trying to say. I understand the different things he is trying to talk about. It appears Tim Pool does NOT get it. Tim and Ian debate some of the issues but not all of the issues. So, I am not saying I'm prepared to fully explain what Ian was trying to say. It would take a while to explain. There are a series of things that you would have to explain. Ian was mostly saying he wished YouTube was open-source. For example, Ubuntu is open-source. Now, is Ubuntu actual communism? No. Is Ubuntu and Linux failing? No. Facebook servers run off Linux operating systems. Many servers on some of the bigger websites around the world already freed the code in that they are open source like Linux and Hive Blog and Bitcoin and many things out there. We are talking about the difference between copyright and copyleft. Also, the debate on private property and copyright is a big debate and I can talk for ten hours about it.
