Well, I'm talking about the newly launched social platform Voice.
It's been over a year that I've been hearing about this EOS based revolutionary platform. But when it was launched after a long wait last February, it was made available only in the USA.
A couple of days back it was launched worldwide ..so to say, it's officially in only 23 countries.
So many people who don't belong to this list of 23 countries were again disappointed. But wait...
To all those people still willing to join Voice, I'd like to tell them that Voice no more require any KYC verification. So over-passionate people can perhaps join by mentioning any country's name from the list where it's available. However, it won't be a good way to do as you can create only one account on that platform. So you won't like your identity to lie about your nationality.
Only provably humans can join Voice platform. It verifies you as a unique human being on this planet through taking a 3D selfie of yourself.
Yesterday, I couldn't find time to complete my registration. But today I spent a good deal of my time to sign up with Voice. Unfortunately, I couldn't get past the Selfie stage.
I ain't good at taking photographs and selfies. But I've taken a few selfies in the past without any problem. However, this one called "3D selfie" sounded more hi-tech to me 😀. I tried it several times, from different angles, distances, light conditions and whatever else I could think of adjusting. but to no avail. My selfie was always declined until I reached the stage of maximum number of unsuccessful attempts.
So I was left with no choice but to abandon my attempts.
I still have no Voice!
I clicked some other links in the app like Privacy Policy, Terms etc. but none of these page was reachable and rendered 403 error. But I thought, may be they are updating those pages because FAQ pages in Help Center were accessible.
Later, I came across many other people who were facing the same problem like me. They too couldn't get past the Selfie stage. This was so relieving to me. Now I could pass the blame on the platform and its app ...it wasn't me, LOL!
Then I heard that their network is temporarily down and they are under mainteneace. However, I can see other poeople posting on the platform and can read their posts. So I don't know where the problem is. But I'd like to wait and check it back later.
Voice is still in beta and all existing users can send invites to a max 10 new users only. Voice is not on EOS mainnet but a private chain.
I don't know how success of Voice is going to benefit the price of EOS!
Are you people on Voice? Is it working for you?
Do you think "semi-centralized" social networks could be better than de-centralized social blockchains?
