Delegate to notional validators

@nerdtopiade requested this article.

Please know that the entire design of this system is open source and covered in a detailed guide that you can find here:

https://whimsical.com/validatron-PbUypC8tVMU8DxCFNLdDFu

For about $3000 you can build your own multi-chain validation and relaying system. You'll also have cloud costs of around $500/mo, which can probably be reduced the same way that we reduced the hardware spend-- by trying it, seeing what works, and then cutting out what isn't needed. I am quite excited about the intel build outlined here, since it doesn't have a gpu and still has 3 4tb nvme disks -- "enough" storage for all of the ibc enabled chains around currently -- blurt too, in fact!

And who knows?

Maybe blurt will be in the #ibcgang sooner than you think.

here are the exact directions for both redelegating and delegating to Notional, assuming that you're using Linux.

There's also this guide and you'll find that nearly every network follows the same pattern.

This guide brazenly instructs you to manipulate your seed phrase yourself. Things could explode, but if you do it right, it'll work.

gaia

wget https://github.com/cosmos/gaia/releases/download/v5.0.2/gaiad-v5.0.2-linux-amd64
sudo mv gaiad-v5.0.2-linux-amd64 /usr/bin/gaiad
sudo chmod +x /usr/bin/gaiad
gaiad keys add choosekeyname --recover
gaiad tx staking delegate cosmosvaloper1083svrca4t350mphfv9x45wq9asrs60cdmrflj 43526969 --from choosekeyname --gas auto --gas-adjustment 1.5 --gas-prices 0.05 --node https://rpc.cosmos.network

akash

wget https://github.com/ovrclk/akash/releases/download/v0.12.1/akash_0.12.1_linux_amd64.zip
unzip akash_0.12.1_linux_amd64.zip
sudo mv akash_0.12.1_linux_amd64/akash /usr/bin/akash
sudo chmod +x /usr/bin/akash
akash keys add choosekeyname --recover
akash tx staking delegate akashvaloper1083svrca4t350mphfv9x45wq9asrs60c0k5a63 43526969 --from choosekeyname --gas auto --gas-adjustment 1.5 --gas-prices 0.05 --node http://rpc.akash.forbole.com:80

Regen

For regen you'll need golang installed.

wget https://github.com/regen-network/regen-ledger/archive/refs/tags/v1.0.0.zip
unzip v1.0.0.zip
cd v1.0.0
make install
regen keys add choosekeyname --recover
regen tx staking delegate regenvaloper1083svrca4t350mphfv9x45wq9asrs60ct2p9a5 43526969 --from choosekeyname --gas auto --gas-adjustment 1.5 --gas-prices 0.05 --node http://public-rpc.regen.vitwit.com:26657

is your valiator address ?
Just ask before i do anything . U wrote on twitter that you are 34 on osmosis Notional . I cant find u on keplr as a valiator .
Is a Notional valiator something diffrent ?
I guess i have to do it like you wrote and their is no easy way right =?

there's no easy way to find e'm right now, sorry. the reason is that they aren't in the active set for those chains yet.

Jacob,

If we do migrate to Cosmos, please keep the voting system that we currently use. Using it, I'm only liable for what I receive in rewards for taxes. Using a gift system like they used at Whaleshares would make me liable for the taxes of everything, which I can't see myself doing. In the years since I've been doing Steem/Hive I've paid the government well over half the value of my current holdings, which will go up again obviously at the end of this year to probably place me at paying them about 3/4 of my current holdings value. Under the Whaleshares gifting model I believe the government would quickly make it a loss for me and any others from the U.S.

Hi Mr. Thought:

"keep the voting system that we currently use"

eg: a user votes on posts, which are paid to authors from a pool?

Yes, exactly.

Under tax law here I'm responsible under the current system for income tax on my rewards. Which is half the pull as the government views the burden for the other half on the recipient. Under the Whaleshares model I would get burdened with the recipients tax burden as well because it would all come to me first.

We won't use the WLS model

Splash might, but, honestly wls community felt that everything was fine.

Thank you.

Splash might, but, honestly wls community felt that everything was fine.

It's only been in the last year that the IRS here in the US defined what we're doing as income. Last year they began asking about crypto, this years return for last year everything was set in stone. I paid my share and will continue to as far as taxes, although I can see how quickly one could end up paying more than the crypto is worth.

I know that if I had to pay on everything on the tax return I filed this year I would have paid over 300 instead of the little over 150 I paid. Which isn't good since my valuation total at current prices seems to waver between 400.00-660.00. Once I add in the 420.00 I used to buy in with Steem back when it was worth more than 2.00 each I would be in the hole, lol.
