Complaints about #vts bots and the Trending page ?

in upvu •  2 years ago  (edited)

Warning : This post is meant as a sarcastic commentary around the ongoing discussion regarding the problem with the Trending page…

If people are really good writers, artists, photographers and want to be on the trending page then they should just go and buy 2 Million Blurt and delegate 500,000 to a Voting Service.

Maybe just don’t have a trending page if people are going to be envious of good investors.

At least people who delegate to a #VTS are staying powered up.

Blurt needs more Investors.

It is never ever a good idea to attack investors. They will sell all their investment and move on. You build better tools.

It’s great to have good bloggers, good writers, good authors, but we also need good Investors. People willing to buy millions of Blurt and power it up.

Maybe Somebody could created an investment or staking vehicle rather than a voting service … Delegate 500,000 Blurt and get 1,000 Blurt a day without any need to post. This way the investors can earn from their stake without interfering with the Trending page.

It's not about being envious. It's about principles of many content creators have. It's easy to buy a lot of blurt and to buy an upvote after that. It's hard to get to the trending and create really valuable content.

Ok.

Maybe ask the big whales why they never upvote the really great content.

I see lots of whales who do not upvote really good content.

I have asked @upvu to create a Staking option so that people can invest/stake 500,000 Blurt power and receive 1,000 liquid Blurt per day.

Of course. Whale should also care about this issue. Maybe that's why upvu is leading them all. If they all start supporting good content, the support of upvu will not be that clear. But now upvu seems to be leading. I even looked at the rich list recently, and I've seen many whales there. But not all of them are active curating. Maybe if they will be, we will see more diverse content in trending.

What I see on trending does shape my views when I first visit a place like Blurt. I don't want to be there... I may one day delegate to upvu but not today. First I've got to buy a million blurt.

The trending page should have nothing to do with $$$ value of upvotes. It should be based on engagement… # comments, # views, # upvotes not value.

Yeah, that what I was talking about. But it seems that the main people here think that bots will attract investors. I don't know such investors at least who invest in bots. I know investors like to invest in real people. Real activity, but not artificial one. But who knows, the world is changing and with all metaverse thing and everything, they may think that's better. lol

If bots endorse 💩 posts, then it can't be for the better of investors! That isn't laid out for long term success. My opinion...

I totally agree. But what we can do little investors who don't have millions to invest and to change the system. Maybe that's the only motivation to invest a lot. But who will do that from the real world, where there are so many opportunities out there, with really solid projects, with solid team, solid concept.

Why do people go to the Trending Page ? It’s like getting your news from the TV. Who even does that ?

I don’t actually. But new ppl tend to.

This is true when anyone new joins they see trending it does help if trending has quality content for investors also.

That's correct. Investors will also not invest in something without engagement. When they will see the trending full of posts without any comments, they will think that the platform is dead.

Yeah I’ve bougut new ppl and some ppl just join but one person was more techy and said similar from trending. Also said site seemed unstable dUe to faq being empty.

I doubt that many creatives have enough for a million blurt

At today's price, a million blurt is more than beer money.

Yeah maybe could expect everyone to put in 200£ or something 30 k most don’t have I would say

Exactly^^

I often feel there needs to be a balance in life. In London I see artists and creatives make poorer areas cool then everyone wants to live there as it’s full of interesting ppl and cool cafes etc but then the original ppl get out priced and within a few years the area is boring so everyone has to move on. I feel there are ways to bring in Investors and investments because they are important whilst still nurturing the creatives who give their own value. IMO it should be some kind of split.

The real estate comparrison is a very interesting analogy. It works like that in American cities also. The gentrification starts with artists who need some space. This has been going on for more than 40 years. Now it is tech companies who are the new creatives. They move to cities that were forgotten and now those cities boom.

In Seoul it is different. Someone entises the government to build a train. Then the areas aroun the train stations get developed. Still some of the first people to buy in a new neighbohood are entertainers and creatives.

If the trending looks boring then creative people look elsewhere... maybe the "hot" tag but the both the hot and trending tag are influnced most by upvotes and not views or reblogs and sharing. So that's what happened to our neighborhood.

If only creative and investors could learn to value one another and live together this wouldn’t need to keep happening

I live in a high gentrification area and it’s amaZing at the stage it’s at now cause it’s still cool and trendy, it’s safe and ppl no longer get shot lol, it’s full of cool cafes and bars but I’ve seen it a million times before and before long the corporates will move in fully and the place will lose all its heart and become boring. Then those corporates will also get bored and come to find the next ‘hip’ place. I think it’s happening a bit on blurt too ppl are starting to come here to look around cause it’s full of the outspoken freedom lovers

I haven’t looked into this enough I think open discussion without aggression is the way. We often judge the way others use the platform but it’s important to understand different ways to yours can still be good. I see both sides on this honestly and maybe there is a way to find a happy place a good amount of people are happy with.

So Blurt now the main goal is about money, not community anymore. Let me campaign for everyone.

  ·  2 years ago  ·   (edited)

It has nothing to do with money.

That’s the point of my post.

Nobody cares about money.

If you don’t care about money then why complain about the Voting Service ?

I think this is a community that is built for social relations. Money is a bonus if you get it. I use Facebook, twitter, and also ig. there is no money, I use it for social interaction.

Some people are Here for money.
People that are not here for the money should not complain about the money.
