Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh.
Let's gain some knowledge about Surah Al-Baqarah verses 104/105.
Surah Al-Baqarah is the second chapter of the Quran, which is the holy book of Islam. It consists of 286 verses and covers various aspects of life, including guidance on faith, worship, morality, and social issues. Surah Al-Baqarah is the longest chapter in the Quran and contains many important lessons and teachings for Muslims.
Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 104, is as follows:
"O you who have believed, do not say [to Allah 's Messenger], 'Ra'ina' but say, 'Unthurna' and listen. And for the disbelievers is a painful punishment."
This verse addresses a specific incident that occurred during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The word "Ra'ina" was a term used by some people to address the Prophet Muhammad, but it had a double meaning in Arabic.
It could be interpreted as "Pay attention to us" or "Listen to us," but it could also be understood as a derogatory term or an insult.
To avoid any miscommunication or disrespect towards the Prophet Muhammad, Allah instructed the believers to use the word "Unthurna" instead, which means "Look at us" or "Give us attention."
This change in terminology was meant to promote proper etiquette and respect when addressing the Prophet.
The verse also warns the disbelievers that they will face a painful punishment.
This serves as a reminder that those who oppose or disrespect the Prophet Muhammad will be held accountable for their actions.
Overall, this verse emphasizes the importance of maintaining proper manners and respect when interacting with the Prophet Muhammad, as well as highlighting the consequences for those who choose to disregard this guidance.
Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 105, is as follows:
"Neither those who disbelieve from the People of the Scripture nor the polytheists wish that any good should be sent down to you from your Lord. But Allah selects for His mercy whom He wills, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty."
This verse addresses the attitude of disbelief and rejection shown by some of the People of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) as well as the polytheists towards the message of Islam and the revelation of the Quran.
It highlights their unwillingness to accept any good that is sent down from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the Muslim community.
The verse emphasizes that disbelievers and polytheists do not have a genuine desire for good and guidance.
They are driven by their own biases, prejudices, and interests, which prevent them from acknowledging the truth and benefiting from the divine message.
Their rejection of the message is not due to any deficiency in the guidance itself, but rather due to their own obstinacy and closed hearts.
Furthermore, the verse reminds the believers that it is Allah who chooses to bestow His mercy upon whomever He wills. Allah's mercy is not limited by the disbelief of certain individuals or communities.
He, in His infinite wisdom, selects those who are deserving of His mercy, regardless of their religious background.
This verse serves as a reassurance for the Prophet Muhammad and the Muslim community that the lack of acceptance and rejection from some groups does not diminish the value of the message or the blessings bestowed by Allah.
It is a reminder that Allah is the ultimate source of mercy and bounty, and He bestows His favors upon whom He chooses.
In summary, Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 105 highlights the disbelievers' and polytheists' lack of desire for good and their rejection of the message of Islam.
It reminds the believers that Allah's mercy is not limited by human biases and that He bestows His blessings upon those whom He deems deserving.
