My son and I played disc golf at the golf course that was converted to a disc golf course. It was a really tough day with a lot of long distance throws. I was pretty tired out after playing a couple of rounds of eighteen holes on this course. I did not score all that well. I don't have a really long distance throw so it was a tough day for me. I kept landing out of bounds on the cart path too and lost a lot of strokes from that.
It really was fun to be out on the course though and I did get a lot of steps in. We ended up inviting a couple of other players to join us and had a lot of fun playing with them.
Disc golf seems like a multi generational activity and you can have a lot of fun with players who are not at the same level of skill. Sometimes beginner players have a really good round and win over more seasoned players. There is a lot of luck involved in some ways.
I suppose as you get more skilled the luck factor goes away a bit more and you play a bit more consistantly. I still have a lot of trouble playing courses that I'm not that familiar with.
Nobody lost any discs today but we did spend a lot of time looking for a brand new disc. It sailed straight into the forest and was buried deep in some underbrush. At least we got it back.
This is what it looked like out on the disc golf course today:
Here's tonight's dinnner:
It was a really tasty homemade pizza.
