I was crossing over from Western Europe to Eastern Europe the summer of 2018. I loved Ukraine so much that I went there for two months and ended up staying for four months, then crossing over into Poland for Steemfest 3.
Ukraine turned out to be a great place for a budget traveler. It was fun, interesting, delicious, and incredibly affordable. I remember going out to dinner for two, including two glasses of wine each at a nice restaurant and the bill would come to like thirteen dollars. Frankly I lived lavishly in Ukraine for about $1,000 a month, and spent a lot of time the beach town of Odessa. This is where some of my great grandparents were from before immigrating to the US in the early 1900s.
The People of Ukraine were friendly, intelligent, and hardworking. I planned to go back to Ukraine but obviously that's on delay. I hope things can get back to normal as the everyday Ukrainian person certainly did not ask for this war. Now come have a look at was was happening on the streets of Kiev Ukraine the summer of 2018.
Ahhh... part of my family came from Lwow ;-)
Never been there, for obvious reasons, ie the cold war.
