Do you sometimes see things in the media, that make you think of history and the lessons of past ages wars, are not yet conceived by our world leaders?
You are not alone.
Lets take a look back at 2014 in the Ukraine, and see if we can see any similarities in the timeline to the 2022 Ukraine.
2014 Ukraine
There is a few repeating information tactics that you will see come up every time there is a geopolitical struggle in the Ukraine. I am going to show you 3 examples, there are many more.
Some History About Crimea's 200 Year Struggle
You could say this is a good example of being stuck between a rock and a hard place, legally the Ukraine, but Ethnically Russian Crimea was destine to be a conflict of interest between Ukraine and Russia. This would not be an issue.
Legally, is Crimea part of Russia or Ukraine? Probably Ukraine
Crimea has technically been part of Ukraine since 1954, when Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev transferred it from the Russian Soviet Socialist Republic to the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. The reasons for this are esoteric and it didn't actually do much since both "republics" were part of the Soviet Union. In 1991, when the Soviet Union broke up, everyone expected Moscow to demand Crimea back. But it didn't. A slight majority of Crimean's voted for independence from Russia, and when Crimea formally joined the newly independent Ukraine (but with special autonomy privileges), Russia promised to honor and respect this.
Historically, is Crimea part of Russia or Ukraine? Probably Russia
Most Crimean's are ethnically Russian, not Ukrainian. While Crimea has been changing hands between regional powers for centuries, for most of the last 200-plus years it has been part of Russia. The fact that everyone expected Russia to take it back when the Soviet Union broke up in 1991 tells you a lot: the world often sees it as historically Russian as well. It was not shocking when, in February, some Crimean's held pro-Russia rallies.

Russian Nuclear Threats in 2014
This reminded me of the recent nuclear threats made, the timing is similar to in the sense that the Russian leadership only threatened nukes when they met a heavy resistance.
“Believe me, there will be a victory parade — there will be for sure — in Ukraine’s Sevastopol,” Heletey said, referring to the capital city of Crimea. At the same hearing, Heletey pledged he “will work day and night for restoring the military capability of our armed forces.” Similar pledges have been made by Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko, who has promised to oversee the “revival of the army,” as well as Ukraine Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.

NATO Gaslighting Russian Military Activity
Russia was always active in this reason and there was pro-Russian locals, so this was really not a situation NATO had any business being involved with to begin with.
NATO said on Wednesday that Russia’s annexation of Ukraine’s Crimea peninsula is the “gravest” threat to Europe since the Cold War, making clear that the military alliance must refocus on risks closer to home after years of fighting in faraway war zones.
There was also people trying to reach diplomatic solutions for this in 2014.
Moscow and Kiev are on the brink of conflict following a breakdown in relations in the wake of last month’s overthrow of Ukraine’s former Kremlin-backed president Viktor Yanukovych.
U.N. spokesman Farhan Haq said Ban was “calling for a de-escalation and restraint from all sides and he will continue to plead for that when he goes to Russia and Ukraine.”
“(Ban) wants to build a constructive dialogue ... between Moscow and Kiev aimed at agreeing on specific measures that will pave the way to a diplomatic solution,” Haq said.

It also started immediately after the Olympics. Same same same. Playbook worked then beautifully, let's do it again!
