The defense forces of Ukraine are advancing slowly but steadily in the south. The command keeps changing the direction of attacks, demonstrating high expertise in military affairs.
The Russian command is holding reserves for a counterattack after the upcoming breakthrough of their defense, trying to guess where it will occur.
Given the scale of the front and the possibility of the enemy breakthrough in two or three places simultaneously, the reserves of the Russian army in that direction are insufficient.
As much as we would like a quick operation in the south, the advancement is currently proceeding slowly but according to the plan.
The Ukrainian command knows their job and knows how to achieve the set military objectives.
And the objective - to reach the coast of the Azov Sea - will be accomplished in the coming months, which will significantly change the situation overall.
On August 2, the Ukrainian Armed Forces advanced to the east, north of Bakhmut, and approached the western outskirts of Kleschivka. They also gained control of an area of 0.61 km² north of Opytne. This will slightly reduce the enemy's pressure on Avdiivka and strengthen the southern flank.
Also, according to the General Staff reports, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have driven out the Russians from Avdiivka.
Russians are increasingly using chemical weapons in the Bakhmut direction, despite its prohibition by the UN convention. During artillery shelling, an element called "Lyuisit" is used. Its symptoms include nausea, vomiting, and loss of consciousness.
