Hi Blurtians! Just want to share this information to add awareness especially to those blurtians living in the Philippines and will be affected by this super typhoon Egay that is coming. Few weeks ago, Typhoon Betty hit and now there is a new one coming. Typhoon is very common to the our country. The ultimate reason why the Philippines is prone to typhoons is its geographic location. The country is in Southeast Asia in the western part of the Pacific Ocean.

As I was monitoring the news on typhoon Egay, I was able to see this news from GMA news. There are lots of areas already that is part of signal number 1 and 2. Here are the list of affected areas:

There are different things you should do and remember before, during and after the typhoon. According to moneymax, prepare an emergency go bag or survival bag. It is very important because it contains survival things that you need. Simply get a backpack with enough space for food, cash, documents, toiletries, and other essentials that should last for two to three days.

Particularly, here are the must-have contents of your emergency go bag:
*Ready-to-eat food (such as canned goods and chocolate bars)
*Bottled water (Up to 1 gallon per person)
*Face masks & Alcohol
*Extra clothes, rain gear, and blankets
Cellphones and power banks
*Battery-operated radio &Flashlight
*Whistle
*First-aid kit (for injuries and maintenance medicines)
*Important documents
*Extra cash (in case ATMs become offline)

To complete the checklist of the things you need to do, refer to the list below by moneymax:

*Monitor weather reports and don't ignore rainfall warning alerts you receive through text.
*Ensure you have enough food and water supply.
*Keep the following items handy in case of a power outage: battery-operated radio, flashlights, spare batteries, rechargeable lamps, and candles.
*Check your home for anything that needs to be fixed or secured, such as a leaky roof and trees that need to be trimmed.
*Park your car in a higher place (like in a mall's parking space) if you live in a low-lying area.
*Secure your pets in a safe place.
*Evacuate immediately and calmly—if there's an order from your local government unit or if you live near a body of water or mountainsides—to avoid flash floods and landslides. Close all windows and switch off your main power supply.
*Make a plan for staying in touch with your family during a typhoon. Have a designated place for the family to gather in case some members get separated.
*Keep your phones charged.
*Prepare a list of emergency hotlines to call.

Hope this list can help each one of us who are affected. Be safe always.♥️
