Pray for Turkey and Syria

It's so sad to hear about the news of Earthquake in Turkey and Syria. As of yesterday, our news reported around 2k deaths and thousands injured with so much loss of everything they possessed. Imagine, at night you go to sleep, you have everything and the morning you wake up to a horror which takes away everything from you and it can be that you may never wake up also. All we can wish for these people is pray to the Almighty to rest the victims' souls in peace and grant their families strength to bear this loss which is beyond words, and the injured a speedy recovery.

In 2001, there was a major earthquake in Ahmedabad city in India with a magnitude of 7.6 and it was horrible. My sister had moved to that city new just few months back and was still setting up. We were all so worried for her, we could not sleep for those days. Though she was safe in her area but they could feel the tremors and there was so much scare all the time. It took away home of so many people and all that they had built up for all their life was in rumbles in a matter of few minutes. The bravest in these moments are the rescue operators and they deserve all respects and applaud for the job that they do of keeping their search on in the rumbles. It is easy to talk, but we cannot even imagine what the impacted person must be going through in that moment.

Whenever such events happen, a lot of theories also come up. Scientific and Unscientific. Some people will say that it is the result of the wrath we humans create on our planet. May be, yes. But one thing we need to understand that these things are constantly happening in nature. Not only on our planet, but in the space, in the universe. Planets form and also get destroyed through these nature cycles and they are unstoppable. There are meteor showers and there are constant blasts. Our Planet Earth is a result of so many such events. The Universe itself came into existence with a big bang. These natural occurrences also remind us that we humans will still have certain things out of our control.

If only our advanced technologies could predict way ahead in advance and we could take precautions to not have a loss of life. Stopping the Earthquakes, or Tsunamis or any such natural occurrences are not in our control. But what is in our control is to detect them in advance and minimize the damage. Predictions do happen, but sadly enough actions are not being taken.

I have seen some images and they are so disturbing. It's so painful to think of it, cannot even imagine what it must be to go through it. People are so much in pain and trauma that all our hearts are bleeding. As of now, all we can do is pray for them and hope that they get courage to get back to lives again.
