Finding Faith Beyond Human Failures

Do you think your judgment is sound? Have unpleasant encounters caused you to lose faith in people? As a divorced adult kid, I have found it difficult to trust God, other people, and myself. How can I trust a Father I can't even see if my parents, who I love so much, can break my faith in people?

I believed a great deal of lies about my situation for a very long period. I bought into the father of lies' predictions of fear and uncertainty and listened to him accuse me of wrongdoing and hold me responsible for things I did not cause. It came out that I was stealing the Stone Soup he was giving me and giving the enemy pet snakes. Now was the moment to crush the lies! The fragrant bread of life, which has no calories and is available in infinite quantities, is provided by the Lord. Because He is good and His love is eternal, we can trust Him with confidence.

Not beyond our comprehension, but with all of our hearts, we may put our trust in the Lord. Like me, a lot of you have experienced setbacks, which have taught us not to rely solely on ourselves. Our trust does not have to be based on our experiences and circumstances. God provides for all of our needs in every situation and encounter. I still have trouble sometimes looking up to God instead of at my circumstances.

It's time to start using my words and ideas intentionally when this occurs. Now is the moment to throw away the Stone Soup and grab a piece of the bread of life. My paths will be straightened when I confess Him, call out to Him, and choose to rely on His goodness! (Verses 3:6) My life is entrusted to a capable parent who loves me more than my earthly father—who, incidentally, I know adores me dearly.

I start to recognize signs of God's presence in all I have ever gone through as I grow in my daily trust in Him. I see His fingerprint everywhere as I reflect on my situation. How am I to deny the goodness of the flawless gifts from our perfect Father if our earthly father is a skilled giver?
