Justin Sun, founder of TRON, has stepped forward to assist Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, who is currently facing legal issues in France.
In a recent tweet, Sun proposed the creation of a decentralized fund under the hashtag “FreePavel DAO” and pledged to contribute $1 million of his own money to support Durov. However, this initiative will only proceed if it receives community backing.
Sun also tagged notable figures Elon Musk and Mario Nawfal in an effort to gain their support for the idea. In the meantime, Telegram has issued an official statement expressing support for Durov and calling for a swift resolution to his situation.
Durov was reportedly detained at an airport near Paris yesterday. Although initial reports suggested the detention might be related to Telegram’s content moderation practices, no official charges have been confirmed.
The hashtag #FreePavel is currently trending on social media, with many questioning the French government’s actions against Durov.
Telegram's statement emphasized that it complies with European laws and refuted any claims of wrongdoing by Durov or the platform.
