As I & my wife walked the pilgrimage route to Santiago, Spain with the priest, a rainbow was rising in the sky. Goddess Iris descends on the rainbow and blesses us that the pilgrimage route we will walk will be safe. In Greek mythology, Hermes was the messenger god for Zeus, and the messenger for his wife Hera was the goddess Iris.
저희 부부가 사제를 모시고 스페인의 산티아고 순례길을 걸어갈 즈음 하늘에 무지개가 찬란히 떠오르고 있었답니다. 우리가 걸어갈 순례길이 안전할 것이라고 이리스(Iris)여신이 무지개를 타고 내려와 축복해 줍니다. 그리스 신화에서 제우스를 위한 전령의 신은 헤르메스, 그의 부인 헤라를 위한 전령은 이리스 여신이었답니다.
However, with the birth of Jesus Christ, the gods of Greek mythology disappear into the back of history. Perhaps the goddess Iris turned into an angel for Jesus. It seems that the angel descends on the rainbow and blesses Father Kisoo Lee, me and my wife. That's why it was safe and good until we finished the pilgrimage to Santiago.
그러나 예수그리스도의 탄생으로 그리스 신화의 신들은 역사의 뒤편으로 사라지게 됩니다. 아마도 이리스 여신은 예수님을 위한 천사로 탈바꿈했겠죠. 그 천사가 무지개를 타고 내려와 이기수 신부님과 나의 부부 일행에게 축복을 내리는 듯합니다. 그래서인지 산티아고 순례길을 마칠 때까지 안전하고 좋았습니다.
