The day 1 is over and I can safely say that it was a successful day, though towards the end I was feeling exhausted.
The day did not start on a very good note. The weather changed and all the flights from Kathmandu to Lukla were getting cancelled. Thankfully my coordinator managed to get one seat for me on a helicopter. I was supposed to fly out at 9.30 in the morning instead the ride took off at 1.
Finally around 2 I reached Lukla, my guide was waiting for me. Lukla is one of the smallest airport in the world with the smallest airstrip.
After landing, first I had my lunch and then the trek started. Today's trek time was total 4 hrs and we lost elevation by 200 metres from Lukla.
On the way the scenes were simply stunning. It was drizzling on n off so there was lot of haze and the views were not very clear. Along the way I could see the Dudh Koshi river, small monasteries, prayers wheels and blessings stones. There were Yaks, horses also crossed paths.
On todays path there were 2 suspension bridges. Quite an experience to walk on them. If you look down, then its scary, if you look ahead and keep walking then there's no hassle.
Because we started late we reached our hotel also late. On reaching first thing I did was to finish my dinner because then I wanted to get into my room and relax.
