This was a short trip to a place called Salalah in Oman some time ago. This place is the most sought after tourist destination in Oman due to it's lush green landscapes. This is one region in Oman where it rains in abundance and there is a good 4 months rainy season. Temperature in this city all year round is lower in comparison to the other parts of Oman. People like to visit here between the months of June to Sept as that's the best time to see the greenery and also enjoy the weather.

No one believes that this place is part of Oman, but yes it is. From Muscat it is 1 hour by flight and 10 hrs road drive. A lot of people like to drive down because getting nearer to the place it gets very scenic. I have been there twice, once during rainy season and once in winter. Both the times it was nice, but during the rains it was more enjoyable.

People call this place mini Kerala, which is in India. It's landscapes are almost like Kerala but on a smaller scale
