Hi friends and followers. Today I thought it would be fun to travel through time and space and go back to 2018 Montevideo Uruguay. I spent a couple weeks in this country and all I can remember was that every one was hooked on Mate as if it were crack. Mate is this herb that hot water is added to and strong tea is sipped through a filtered straw. It's wildly popular in this part of the world and neighboring Argentina. This is what it looks like.
Uruguay and Argentina both feel much more like European Countries. Both countries have a lot of ancestry and influence tying back to Italy and Spain. Pizza, olives, wine, cold cuts, breads, and "tapas" are all the rage in the southern tip of South America crossing over the Andes into Chile as well.
In Southern Chile there is a prevalent German influence. Once you head north into Peru and Ecuador, the European vibe changes to Latin America all the way up to Mexico. But lets go for a stroll and have a look around Montevideo Uruguay 2018.

First notice how European the Architecture is here in Montevideo Uruguay.
While walking around the city we come across an old art museum. Let's have a look inside.
Next we walk down the board walk. Montevideo is a port city, just on the other side of the Rio De Plata from Buenos Aires Argentina.
We take a detour down an interesting road and see some street art.
Just up ahead we have an antique market. Let's check this place out.
Watch out for the Truck!
We are certainly getting hungry at this point let's pick up some Uruguay beef and sausages and have a classic BBQ. Unfortunately the only two photos I have of the food in Uruguay are these two. As I was doing a lot of videos then. But you get the idea. I got invited to a private party one night and these are the only two photos I captured. As the wine was flowing. But this is a classic Uruguay style BBQ set up. Thanks for coming along on this tour of Montevideo Uruguay!

I have some family roots from Argentina...
Very familiar to Chile and Uruguay.
Great photo spread. 🤬👍
Wow. That is awesome! Argentina is my favorite of all of South America. Steak and wine is on another level there.
