I Had Barbeque Nearby Ozan Creek After A Year [ENG-TUR] [TRListe Travel Contest]

As someone who loves travelling, I was happy to see that a travel contest was organized by TRListe after a long time. I wanted to write my post about my weekend trip-activity in this weekend to participate in the TRListe Travel Contest. Thus, not only I participated in the contest with a recent post, but also shared a post in the TRListe community again after a long time. The award is not important to me, the important thing is to participate, I wish good luck to everyone 😉

Gezmeyi seven biri olarak, TRListe tarafından uzun bir aradan sonra bir gezi yarışmasının düzenlendiğini görmek beni mutlu etti. Bu haftasonu gerçekleştirdiğim gezi-aktivite ile ilgili yazımı, TRListe Gezi Yarışmasına katılmak için yazmak istedim. Böylece, hem güncel bir yazı ile yarışmaya katılmış oldum hem de uzun bir ardan sonra TRListe topluluğunda tekrar yazı paylaşmış oldum. Ödül benim için önemli değil, önemli olan katılmak, herkese başarılar dilerim 😉

Although we have reached the end of October and the middle of the autumn season, we still have summer-like days in Istanbul. I take advantage of such beautiful days and continue my weekend activities after the ban on entering forest areas in Istanbul was lifted. This year, however, I didn't have much opportunity for a weekend activity compared to last year. In this post, I will write about the trip and barbecue we had nearby Ozan Creek, which passes through Bıçkıdere Village in Şile district of Istanbul.

Ekim ayının sonuna ve sonbahar mevsiminin ortasına gelmemize karşın İstanbul’da yazdan kalma günler yaşanıyor. Istanbul’da ormanlık alanlara girişi yasağının kalkmasıyla birlikte böyle güzel havaları fırsat bilip haftasonu faaliyetlerime devam ediyorum. Zaten bu sene, geçen seneye göre haftasonu gezisi için çok da fırsatım olmadı. Bu yazımda, İstanbul’un Şile ilçesinde bulunan Bıçkıdere Köyü’nden geçen Ozan Deresi’de yanında yaptığımız gezi ve mangaldan bahsedeceğim.

The last time we went to Ozan Creek and the forest area where it is located was more than a year ago. Since the ban on entering forest areas was lifted, my friend and I made our plans during the week. Esenceli Village and Ozan Creek are our two favorite places. Although both of them are closer to each other, we preferred to go to Esenceli Village recently. My friend and I agreed that it was time to go to Ozan Creek.

Ozan Deresi’ne ve onun bulunduğu ormanlık alana en son bir yıldan uzun bir süre önce gitmiştik. Ormanlık alanlara girişi yasağı da hazır kalkmışken, arkadaşımla hafta içinden planımızı yaptık. Esenceli Köyü ile Ozan Deresi bizim iki favori yerimiz. İkisi de birbirine daha yakın olmasına karşın son zamanlarda biz ağırlıklı Esenceli Köyü’ne gitmeyi tercih etmiştik. Arkadaşımla artık Ozan Deresi’ne gitmenin zamanı geldiği konusunda hem fikirdik.

We met on Saturday afternoon and first took things such as chairs, table and samovar from my friend's house. Then, we bought the things needed for the barbecue from the market and set out as two friends towards Ozan Creek. We reached the forest area and the creek after a total of one and a half hours. At first glance, we thought there was no one there, but we saw people barbecuing and even camping deeper into the forest and near the creek. After parking the car and finding a suitable place near the creek, we put things and settled down. Since the weather was a bit windy, the forest area was slightly cooler. Fortunately, the wind stopped after half an hour.

Cumartesi günü öğleden sonra buluşup önce arkadaşımın evinden sandalye, masa, semaver gibi eşyaları aldık. Sonra mangal için gerekli olan malzemeleri marketten alıp Ozan Deresi’ne doğru iki arkadaş yola çıktık. Toplamda bir buçuk saatlik bir sürenin ardından ormanlık alana ve dereye varmıştık. İlk bakışta sanki kimse yokmuş gibi düşündük ama ormanın derinliğine ve dere kenarına doğru insanların mangal, hatta kamp yaptığını gördük. Arabayı park edip dere kenarına yakın uygun bir yer bulduktan sonra eşyalarımızı koyup yerleştik. Hava biraz rüzgarlı olması nedeniyle ormanlık alan hafiften serindi. Neyse ki, rüzgar yarım saat sonra durdu.

We missed Ozan Creek. Here, you can drive approximately 100 meters into the forest where the creek flows. If we had come a little earlier, we could have sat in a better place by the creek. There are also places where you can put chairs and tables in the creek. Entrance is free, there are no facilities. This is also a place used for TV series shootings. After placing the things, my friend quickly lit the samovar. So, I cut the wood for the barbecue and lit the fire. We were very hungry. After having a barbecue and eating fill, we enjoyed dessert with one-hour brewed samovar tea and chatted. Later, I walked around and took some photos.

Ozan Deresi’ni özlemiştik. Burada arabayla derenin aktığı ormanın içine yakşalık 100 metre kadar gidilebiliyor. Biraz daha erken gelseydik dere kenarında daha güzel bir yere oturabilirdik. Derenin içine sandalye ve masa koyabileceğiniz yerler de var. Giriş ücretsiz, herhangi bir tesis yok. Burası ayrıca dizi çekimlerinde de kullanılan bir yer. Eşyaları yerleştirdikten sonra arkadaşım hemen semaveri yaktı. Ben de mangal için odunları kesip mangal ateşini yaktım. İyice acıkmıştık. Mangalı yapıp karnımızı doyurduktan sonra bir saat demlenmiş semaver çayı ile tatlı keyfi yaptık, sohbet ettik. Ben daha sonra etrafı dolaraşak birkaç fotoğraf çektim.

Meanwhile, even though it was late, there were still people coming here. Some looked around and took a breath of fresh air; some had a short picnic and left. The campers also dispersed to different parts of the forest to collect firewood. The weather became cooler towards sunset. My friend brewed another tea in the samovar. We drank some more tea to warm up, and to satisfy our longing, we sat in the forest nearby the creek until it got dark until 7 o'clock.

Bu arada, saating geç olmasına karşın hala buraya gelen insanlar vardı. Kimisi etrafa bakıp temiz hava alıp gitti; kimisi ise kısa süreli piknik yapıp gitti. Kampçılar da odun toplamak için ormanın farklı yerlerine dağılmıştı. Gün batımına doğru hava serinlemişti. Arkadaşım semaverde bir çay daha demlemişti. Isınmak için biraz daha çay içtik, iyice özlem gidermek için hava karanana kadar ormanda derenin kenarında saat 7’ye kadar oturduk.
