Setting sail from Korčula on a ship, I made my way to Dubrovnik, arriving slightly later than anticipated. This twist in plans was a result of the ever-changing circumstances brought about by Covid. Originally slated for a bus journey, fate led me to embrace the maritime route.
Upon arrival at the Dubrovnik port, finding my accommodation proved to be a quest in itself. Nestled by the port, I relied on Google Maps to guide me. It was a labyrinthine walk, but persistence paid off as I located the elusive and affordable hostel.
The hostel's appearance was deceiving, resembling a residence rather than a traditional lodging. A fellow traveler, preparing to depart, greeted me and ushered me inside. While waiting for the owner, I explored the kitchen, absorbing the tales of a wanderer.
Embracing the aura of Dubrovnik's old town, I ventured through its historic streets, unaware of its "Game of Thrones" significance at the time. The return to the hostel demanded a strenuous climb, an ascent of countless stairs—a choice driven by thriftiness.
Navigating through twists and turns, I eventually reunited with the hostel. Little did I know, these early adventures were mere preludes to the exciting days that lay ahead. Stay tuned for more tales of this unexpected, unforgettable journey! 🌍🌟
