Yesterday I gave a little description of our sudden trip to ella. Today I will share how our first day went.
As I told we arrived to Ella area around 11 am in the morning. For the first day our plan was only to cover Rawana Ellla waterfall, Dunhinda waterfall and Muthiyaganaya temple. So we directly set the map to Rawana Ella Waterful. Eventhough we already knew that the rawana ella waterfall situated beside the road the map showed us somewhere else. Anyway, we stopped by the correct place before the map directed us to the top of the waterfall. Lol
As normal the fall area was very crowded and the water level of the waterfall was very low due to drought. But the beauty remained the same.
There were lots of people bathing at the waterfall also. We didn't spend much time there as there was nothing much to see.
Before moving to the next destination we thought of having lunch even if it wasn't even midday. We knew that there was a long journey to go to Dunhinda waterfall. So we stopped by a restaurant near by the main road and had lunch.
Google Maps showed us a different direction to Dunhinda fall also. It is better not to follow only the assistance of Google Maps to visit waterfalls. Anyway, we started our hike to Dunihinda which was about 1h to waterfall.
Eventhough the road is defined, it is very hard as the steps are too high. After a tough walk finally we started to notice the presence of a waterfall.
Eventhough the water level is low, still this one had a high flow compared to Rawana Ella. The sight was really attractive from the viewpoint. Some people went all the way down to the waterfall but we didn't. The pool under the waterfall seems very deep.
This time there was not much crowd so we spent like 30 mins watching the beauty and hanging out in front of the water wall.
The walk back to car was the difficult part. Our legs were already hurting so it took more than 1h to walk back to the car. Anyway, it gave me lots of satisfaction after all.
Around 3pm we reached our hostel. It was kind of a budget hotel but had everything that we wanted. They had an upper-flow dining area with a beautiful city plus a mountain view. So after freshening up ourselves we went there to have a coffee and spent some quality time.
After 5pm we dressed up to visit Muthiyanganaya temple, which was just few minutes away from the hostel. We spent some time there doing religious activities.
When we arrived to the hostel our food was ready. Eventhough the hotel had no restaurant, they provided us food based on our requirements for both dinner and breakfast. Both meals they provided were extremely delicious and super worth it.
We enjoyed the night view from the hotel's viewpoint and finished the day restfully. It was really relaxing.
Stunning
Thank You
