These are some pictures that I clicked during my travel last week of the take-off and landing. It is fascinating to see different landscapes in different parts of the world. How they vary and it also gives you a glimpse of the place even before you land. For me it is a regular affair as almost every alternate month I am travelling. Yet, every time I find it fascinating.
Muscat gives a very dry look during the take-off but when you land it comes from the other side which is a green area and it is a very different view all together. When you take these 2 different views you do not feel like it is the same city.
This is the view of Muscat from above at take-off. When I return back, I will click pictures of the landing views and share so that you will know the difference.
When you are at the ground level on the road these Mountains look tall and gigantic in front of you, but when you see them from above, they look so small. These are some of the views as we fly over different regions of Oman.
Flight was peaceful, a short one of 2.5 hours and it's almost landing time. These are the landscapes of Mumbai city. You will see the contrast in both these places.
The city comes into the view
What I do not like about Mumbai landing is that a vast area near the airport is full of slums and when you land all you get is the view of the slums. This is where people form opinion about the place that India is full of poverty and backwardness. The area is so huge that it is not even possible for the Government to do anything about it. The sad part is that even if the Government gives them proper housing, they leave that or rent it out and stay in this slum only. It's a very tricky thing. This place is a huge vote bank for the Government so they do not really push much to do anything about it. This is the sad and harsh reality.
