Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is one iconic structure in Abu Dhabi, the capital of United Arab Emirates.....
This mosque is among one of the best Mosque in the world, a beautiful and a stunning place, but advisable to not visit in summer time if you wish to enjoy the exteriors of this place also.
The Mosque is a symbol of grand stature an its an architectural marvel. The Mosque was completed in the year 2007 and opened to public. The exteriors of the Mosque is as enticing as the interiors. At a time this place can accommodate more than 40000 people. Its compulsory for females to wear an Abaya in this place, you do not need to buy one, they are available in this place for free, you need to return it back after the use. When I had gone there, it was my first time ever visiting any Mosque, before this I had never been to a Mosque, so I was not aware of the traditions to be followed. But they guided at the entry point. I also had to rent the full Abaya dress from them to be fully covered.
Watching a sunset from this mosque is another one spectacular view. This place is Royal, Grand and truly Majestic and worth a one time watch in lifetime.
The exterior of the Mosque
The white marbles have beautiful carvings with semi precious stones.
These beautiful 24 carat gold gilded Chandeliers are all over in the Mosque.
The world largest hand-knotted Carpets, Pillars, Walls are all to marvel at, each one of them have unique designs on them.
The miniature model of the Mosque
Pools surrounding the Mosque gives a very calm feeling and amplifies the beauty of this place. The white and golden pillars in the exteriors when lit up at night gives a magnificent view of the Mosque.
It's a truly unforgettable experience visiting this place. If you ever visit Abu Dhabi, this one is a must see.
