The City of Rome

in travel •  2 years ago

When we talk about Rome so many things come to our mind, The Vatican City, The Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, Colosseum. The City's ancient history is interesting and filled with Architecture. We were for 2 and a half days in the city of Rome of which one day I spent in the Vatican city and the Vatican Museum. Both these places are huge to see and needs good enough time. One day we visited the Colosseum, Trevi, Spanish Steps and other historical sights of Rome. Rome is also called the Cradle of Western civilization and Christian culture, and because of the Vatican city it is also the Centre of the Catholic Church. Rome is the capital of Italy. Anyone who visits Italy first lands up either in Rome or Milan. These 2 are the major centers of the Country. It is also the City of Fountains, it is said that there are more than 2000 Fountains in Rome, and I guess it's true, almost on every road there is a Fountain. And no doubt the best of all is the Trevi Fountain, I have fallen in love with it at first sight.

Rome was formed even before the Republic of Italy was formed and it is 2500 years older than the Republic of Italy. Quite interesting to know these little facts about this most ancient city of the world.

These photos are wonderful. They remind me of the time my partner and I travelled to Rome. Thank you for the memories

For some reason it is called the Eternal City. From its 7 hills (Sette Colli) you can see and admire this fantastic city.

Greetings friends I hope you enjoyed it.
