I have travelled to Switzerland many times but had never ever stayed in a Swiss Chalet and it was always my wish to once stay in a Swiss Chalet to get that warm feeling of the place. I know it's nothing so fanciful but yet there is a lot of charm about staying in a chalet. The all made of wood it gives that feeling of the olden ages.
On our last trip I made it a point to book our accommodation in Zermatt in one of the Chalets. The good part here was that almost all the accommodation here are chalet style only. The hotel we booked was Astoria Chalet Hotel. It was a nice cozy little place and good spacious rooms as well.
The place was clean and tidy and it met all my expectations. I was worried as to how it will be in real, in pictures it did look good on the site, but then you never know what in real it is. One thing I am always concerned about is the space I get in the room. I do not like narrow cramped up rooms where there is barely any space to move around. Thankfully this was a nice big room.
The look and feel of this room reminded me of one of my stay at the Boat House in Kashmir. It was something similar.
These curtains are so pretty, they are so simple and yet they look so pretty.
This is what I call classy
Here is our balcony. A decent size to sit and enjoy the evening and the views of Matterhorn from this place. That was the best part of our balcony, we could see the Matterhorn peak
The bathroom was also neat and spacious.
Enjoying my stay
One more tick from my bucket list.
