With just had a 3/4 day in the city of Zurich I wanted to see some of the most famous places and with that one cannot miss visiting the Zurich Lake. I got a little lost and confused in the planning. When I checked my google map for direction it showed me the Lake side in the small town of Rapperswil. Though I had visited Lake Zurich before but that was like 20 years back, so I was blanked out and I followed the google map directions. Rapperswil was almost 40 minutes away from Zurich by Train, I did take it and reached there. It was a nice place and yes the Zurich Lake could be seen from this place also, but the only pain point was that I did not have time at luxury and this made it longer. Anyways after reaching there we did find out that we had to just got to the Zurich main station and from there Lake Zurich was 10 mins away.
Rapperswil was a very beautiful place and I normally like such unexpected destinations as they always have something good to offer. If not for the time crunch I would have surely like to spend some more time in this place. Anyways me and hubby we spent around and hour and then returned back to Zurich main station.
The other good part of this side was that it was very peaceful not many people around.
There were boat taxis also leaving from this side to other stops and one was also going to Zurich main, but again time was the factor. The boat time was after 3 hours so we could not think of waiting for so long.
And Green Trees all around
The weather was nice, a bit chilly, winter is setting in and people there are out with their woolens.
A pleasant morning, if not for the hurry to reach to the airport it would had been good to spend more time in Zurich and explore the places around
Zurich main station is huge, but so well planned that one can never get lost here. All through out we were comfortably travelling without have to ask anyone for directions as the whole place is very well organized for tourist.
This got my attention at the station
And then we go to the most famous street of the world Bahnhofstrasse for some shopping and from there on to the Zurich Zoo, which was again another delight.
