My New Mask Came in Handy On My Trip

Yesterday, I did a 10 + hour drive (about 630 miles- a little over 1000 km) through heavy Covid areas.

I usually like to stop every couple of hours and walk for at least 15 minutes and use the restroom.

Restrooms are problematic and have a high chance of getting you infected.

I only stopped at almost empty rest stops, wearing masks, gloves, Clorox wipes in hand... and pretty much powered through the drive to avoid as much contact as possible.

I love the Arizona Skies!!!

Don't touch that, it'll give you feline AIDS!

I thought you were gonna talk about how you had to deal with being in a really dusty environment (eg, rodeo, dance party) wrt to the utility of your mask.

I personally have one of those knitted shirt-fabric weight head wrap/mask/things - can't dig up an example of it quickly, but it's basically like a cut section of spandex pants thigh, you can wear it as a bandanna, or a dust/cold mask, or, as I am doing now, a covid mask so I can go shopping without being harassed by security, even though I'm perfectly healthy.

I personally have a thing for gas masks. Hoping that in the next year I can own one of my own with a complete bug-out bag for TEOTWAWKI scenarios, with a couple spare cans for legitimate air filtration reasons, not silly ring a ring a rosies reasons.

I have a few of those too.
Just an FYI, you might think that you are completely healthy, but we had friends getting a test since they had been exposed, no symptoms, feeling totally healthy, and one was positive, the other negative.
In Tuscon, 30% of no symptom people that are tested are coming back positive...
So, thank you for wearing your mask even though you don't feel like doing it. You might protect a bunch of others...

Those tests are less than 50% reliable and if they are the PCR type, they don't actually detect the virus but several short fragments of the RNA. PCR amplifies contamination and the DNA in coronavirus overlaps with a few other things.

People have gotten positives on unopened test kits and test labs have sent back positive results even though no sample was actually provided.

The whole business is so suspicious, unless you like to trust the TV news, the rest of the world is talking about the blatant fraud going on.

I only wear the mask so I can do my business. If I wasn't going to be chased out of there by a security guard or have the cops called on me I'd not ever wear one except when there's dusty air or it's cold weather and my nose is about to get frostbite.

Well, not sure if the rest of the world talks about blatant fraud. My brother is a physician in Germany and he doesn't think that it is a fraud.
And my niece is a nurse working mostly with Covid patients. She doesn't think it is fraud.
Neither does my friend who lost 2 family members to it so far.
I think for sure that there is a problem with the tests - since they are ill funded, not widely available, and a bunch of other bull going on.
Personally, I am rather safe than sorry.
And what I hear from the rest of the world (I have family in several countries and friends in many more) is that the US is one big shit show when it comes to dealing with healthcare. full stop. Not just Corona.

Yes, it is a fabric mask. My daughter in law made it for me :)
