Fomento is enjoyed amidst the mountains

Hello, friends. Today I want to share with you about my last trip to Fomento, a municipality located in the center of Cuba. This place is not new to me; my in-laws live here, so I come here quite often. My intention is to show you the modesty and beauty of the place.

Fomento is not the kind of place that tourists visit, even though it has protected reserves. It is not a town that dazzles with its buildings, but it has something that no bustling city can offer: peace and tranquility. This town has that country feel that makes you forget the stresses of everyday life - who couldn't use a little fresh air?

What fascinates me most about Fomento is its mountainous surroundings. It's as if nature decided to embrace the town and give it breathtaking landscapes. And speaking of nature's gifts, the main productive line of Fomento is the production of coffee. That aromatic and precious bean that we all love. Being mainly mountainous, nature plays a fundamental role in its production.

When you walk through the streets of Fomento, don't expect big modern constructions. The beauty of this place lies in its colonial era buildings. The park ''Doña Caridad Martinez'' is the heart of the town, surrounded by those architectural structures that you have to admire. You can feel the history in every corner, such as the Catholic Church ''Our Lady of the Rosary'' or the municipal library, former Baroja theater, which is very elegant

But as I said before, the greatness of Fomento is not in its buildings, as beautiful as they are. The magic is in its landscapes and mountains that look like something out of a canvas. The beautiful mountains, the green fields, and no matter if the sky is cloudy or blue, the images are perfect for those looking for an escape from modern life. Who needs bright lights when you can have a green landscape, surrounded by animals and tranquility in abundance?

Every time I come to this place it's like a breath of fresh air. Beauty is not always found in the big and flashy, but in the simple and authentic things. I don't live in an urban area, but there are no mountains nearby either, so every time I come here I enjoy this place to the fullest.
