Yesterday I wrote about how I reached Chitradurga and then travelled to Vani Vilas Pura. Today I am planning to share what happened in Vani Vilas Pura and probably end this series here.
The clean still waters of Vani Vilas Sagar Dam
The Resort!
The wedding was scheduled to happen in a old resort called Marikamba Resort and I was dropped off near the resort by the family of the groom and I walked in to the hotel.
The groom's father had told to to take any room on the first floor as they had booked a whole floor for the guests.
I was the first guest who arrived and I took room number 101 on first floor.
The resort looked good but it was old and probably renovated around 3-4 years ago.
At first glance it looked like a set from a horror movie. The lights were dim and the walls had started to turn yellow. Although the bedding was clean and looked good it was still old and had lost the firmness that it once held.
The bathroom was spotless, the flush working but when I checked if the geyser was broken and did not hear the water. I used to bathe with cold water a long time ago and I told myself that it won't be a big deal for me too start bathing with cold water.
The weather was cold and it had rained the previous night. I was informed that the bridge that connects the village to the town was overflowing last night and I was lucky to arrive at noon as the water flow had decreased.
I couldn't take a clear picture from the movie car. I thought I would take a clear image later on but I completely forgot about it.
Once I settled down in the hotel room the groom's father brought food for me in a tiffin box and I took photos so that I can share th with you all.
The sent me a tiffin box filled with home cooked food which included three pieces of fish.
The fish was delicious and I enjoyed it. I live in a city where there are no rivers, no sea and very few lakes which has no fish in them.
The one river that passes through the city is too far and there are very few fish there.
So, I come from a non-fish household and whenever I get a chance I eat it.
The fish that my friend's family sent was delicious and I enjoyed it.
The Wedding
The wedding ceremony was held at a mosque and I took a few photos for you guys.
The mosque was quite big and spacious. Usually mosques in my city are small and most of them are packed because of air conditioning which I hate.
This mosque is called the Jamia Masjid, Vani Vilas Pura. I could see the mountain from the mosque and I was wondering if I could settle down in this town and build a house in the mountains.
I don't know if I will settle down in that town but it is a good fantasy, lol.
I love with my old parents and they need me to be around them and they won't move to other cities because they want to be close to my sister's and their kids.
Found the picture of the river
The Groom in the centre after signing of the marriage papers
People praying at the Mosque
After the marriage papers were signed by both the bride and the groom we went back to the resort and had our lunch.
But before that let me share a picture of our special guest! 😂
The village has a ton of monkeys and they walk all over the place and no one can do anything.
And if you are not from India then you be surprised to see that animals roam around all over the city and no one touches them. We have dogs, cats, monkeys, donkeys etc that roam around free.
The Wedding Lunch
I'll probably share another post about this wedding and the food we are. Maybe tomorrow I'll post it.
