Pagadian City is a coastal component city in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, this is also known as the little Hong Kong of the South as this place embraces different trades from neighboring cities and islands. Walking the streets of the city I learned that the Christians and Muslims live in peace in this place doing daily jobs and trades - this negated my impression that we cannot live in peace to those who does not share the same belief as mine. Well 2 days of interacting with them is enough for me to whole heartedly say that they are good people.
Anyway, back to my travel experience of the place I would say that whenever I travel I love to study their culture or at least know a little of their culture and beliefs. There I have visited one of the most famous stores that sells the famous "Malong"- like the authentic ones. They sell a variety of Malongs both locally and interna to internationally. While buying I have asked one or two about their traditional outfits, according to her Abaya is their traditional clothing while the Hijab is their evening dress.
Well, according to her some of the modern day Muslims conform to practicality and the geographic location when wearing their traditional outfits. I still have a lot of questions in mind but I have to respect their time as they have a lot of customers to attend to as well. Maybe next time. Also while touring the city I was able to eat some delicacy like the chicken Ati atihan, dates, chocolates and slot more. I'll show it on my next post. @iamfaith
