Before returning from Italy, the first thing I did was to buy a new camera that was also a reflex camera, not just a digital one.

I wanted to give myself that pleasure and to be able to buy it at an affordable price that I knew, in my new country of residence, was going to cost me much more.

Because of the variation of the dollar, which has always been "tied" to the national economy and because of the permanent inflation that Latin American countries display, as if it were a reason to be proud of.

Anyway, having bought the new "chiche", I had to try it out and, as it is always done in these cases, I started to try different angles, close-ups, panoramic photos, landscapes and everything I could find.

It had been sold to me as the first digital SLR camera in the world with high definition film mode. And I wanted to see if it was true.

The new jewel (now it is already a few years old, not many but some that in this modern technological era means entering soon in the field of obsolete or out of fashion) was a Nikon D90 with 12.3 megapixel CMOS image sensor in DX format, continuous shooting at a speed of up to 4.5 frames per second and 3-inch LCD monitor.

I took many pictures at that time but I present you only the first ones, those that managed to barely fill my excitement at that time.

A panorama of the valley of Vado Ligure with the tower of Enel - the power company in the distance - does not offer the attraction of the first two images that illustrate this post, two sunsets, almost at dusk, immediately after I bought the machine, but a couple of panoramic photos allow me to test the zoom and regulate the distance.

216.-mag-giu 06 052.jpg

A short distance from the beach, in the sea, the islet of Bergeggi, which is a protected marine area, rises out of the sea.

It is a small cone of limestone rock just 250 meters from the coast on the steep Punta del Maiolo to which it was probably attached in ancient times.

The Natural Reserve of the islet of Bergeggi also includes the stretch of coast and the sea caves of exceptional importance not only scenic but also paleontological.

There is a small tower but there are no traces of openings. It is assumed that access to the tower was by stairs.

The balcony of my apartment on a fifth floor with direct view to the sea is an excellent observation point and I try two shots with the flash, one closer and the other farther away.

216.-maggio 023.jpg)

A storm is approaching, the sky is covered with gray clouds darker and darker, a preannouncement of water and wind.

When the color of the clouds is leaden gray and the wind direction changes, it is synonymous with snow. You can feel it in the air.

The inhabitants of Spain are real experts in calculating when it will snow and when it will not. They have no use for cell phones or weather forecasts. It is enough for them to look at the clouds, their color and the direction of the wind. Ancient science they call it.

I try to take some pictures using and adjusting the zoom.

I have tried to print some photos and others I have looked at them on the notebook. The quality for posting on the web seems respectable. I don't want them to be too "heavy" on the page as not everyone has a sufficiently powerful internet bandwidth.

216.-maggio 022.jpg

216.-maggio 026.jpg

The serenity of the whole valley is remarkable. A close-up of the conifers that are all over the region, the village and in the background the omnipresent mountains.

As the sea is also omnipresent, from any angle, it is always a good perspective to take some pictures.

216.-Melognio2.JPG

The storm is ever present. Thick storm clouds pass over my head.

Plants shake in the wind and it's a good opportunity to take panoramic photos of a moving object.

Everything serves to calibrate the accuracy of the photos and to get the hang of the new Nikon.

In the background you can see something like a rainbow about to appear. If that is real the storm and rain will become a memory.

216.-mag-giu 06 061.jpg

216.-maggio 024.jpg

Hours later, everything is back to normal.

The storm passed as planned. I take the opportunity to take some pictures of the sea something moved, always the storms that discharge water or not produce these underwater phenomena that "sting" the sea and make the waves curl and hit against the large stones of the coast that serve as an obstacle to the advance of the sea.

216.-20210913_132136.jpg

216.-20210913_132459.jpg

Part of a concrete bridge that a previous storm and its subsequent surge caused to fall into the sea.

I take the opportunity to take a close-up shot and with this image I say goodbye to all the #hivers of this traveling community.

The photos were taken in the area bounded by Savona, Vado Ligure and Bergeggi in Liguria (Italy).

216.-mar-apr 033.jpg

Thank you for curating, voting and selecting my content to the entire @beblurt team.

I have seen that the PowerDown has been reduced from 13 weeks to 4 weeks. Is it a permanent measure?

Thanks to you for making me travel, discovering books, remembering people who made me dream as a child (like Niki Lauda, which is why my dog was named Niki hahaha), discovering some Linux distributions, etc.... 👍

It seems to me that this goes back before I was a witness, since it's a modification requiring a Hardfork yes it's indeed a permanent measure.

Miki, the man who survived the inferno of flames trapped in his Ferrari. It is a legend.

Thanks for the clarification regarding the PD @nalexadre.
