First Family Bonding in 2021 | Antulang Beach Resort

in travel •  2 years ago

In April 2021 during my annual vacation, covid-19 was still hot in most of the cities not only in the Philippines but in most countries.

Month before my flight back home, my wife suggested some beach resorts where we can visit and relax during my vacation. There might be some resorts were being closed that time. We booked an overnight package at Antulang Beach Resort on 22-23 April 2021, it was a nice spot for a family bonding. They have 6 different rooms named Cabana, Sea View Cottage, Garden View Cottage, Cliffhanger Room, Superior Suite and Pool Villa.

We took the Pool Villa which is best for the three of us, my wife and our 3yr old son. The Pool Villa has its private pool, with parking area enough for 1 car and the area covered with concrete walls on both sides. It’s facing the Pacific Ocean where you can relax looking at the clear blue and fishing boats specially in the morning.

The place is 69km away from our city, 1.5 to 2 hours travel since it’s located more or less 20km from its town proper. It was a bit adventurous and breathtaking travel because there were unpaved roads and houses are few along the way. I was so concerned with our car tires which was already at the expiration age, I’m afraid it will explode one of them plus no cellular signal at most of the area.

Thankfully we arrived at the resort safe and sound without any problem along our way. Our small Toyota Wigo survived and brought us there on time. Our son was very excited when he knew that we are going to the swimming pool. While we were traveling, he fell asleep and as soon as the car stops by traffic he immediately wakes up and ask “are we here, where is the swimming pool?” LOL.

We arrived at 2:30 in the afternoon, the place was like somewhere in the mountains. Perfect place for someone who needs peaceful moment to relax and unwind. The resort is surrounded by trees and the best view which is facing the ocean as the villa rooms are build at the cliff’s edge.

As soon as we entered the villa, our son said “wow what a beautiful swimming pool, let’s go swim! And there’s a biiiig sea out there” excuse our kid, we only have water in the basin as swimming pool LOL. A kid’s happiness is what always the parents wanted. As a working abroad father, I’m doing the best I can to spend my whole vacation with them, my wife and son Gavin.

So there they are, started swimming at 3pm, Gavin doesn’t want to wear his new yellow life jacket. He doesn’t like being wrapped by something he panics. Maybe, son like father lol, I am claustrophobic I’m afraid of small spaces, anyhow his mom is there to safeguard him while I am unloading our things from the car then joined with them afterwards.

After almost an hour in the pool we took a walk onthe staircase at the edge of the cliff and then ate our dinner at 7pm while looking at the ocean. Our son was amazed with the lights he was seeing at a distant because there were a lot of fishermen at that night. When he saw the pool light up, he then again wanted to go swimming, the water was so cold already man.

Kids are kids so we did a night swimming or else our night will be ruined haha. While we were in the pool, we saw some winged termites floating. Oh lala a lot of them including some other insects and beetles are flying around all the lights at the ceiling. I turned off the lights nearest to the pool but still they were flying around since the pool illuminates by its underwater lightings. That means, we need to rest lol.

In the morning, we went out from the villa to order breakfast. We found out that there were local government events being held in the resort. They also have a nice public poo. While waiting for our order I cleaned the insects floating on the pool, Gavin wants to take a swim again.

There were a couple of fishermen in front of our villa early in the morning. You can see the marine plants and corals underneath those small fishing boat.

After our breakfast we cleaned out the room and call the housekeeping desk to check everything before we leave. The checkout time was 12noon but we left at 9am.
