[ENG/ESP] My Wednesday Walk on the banks of the river. / Mi Caminata del Miércoles a la orilla del rio.

Sometimes, due to the characteristics of our own work, we can take a day off on any day of the week, in other cases this is not the case and schedules must be strictly respected. My job has a lot to do with the influx of tourists in this part of Patagonia, where I live all year round, and taking a day off on Wednesday means resting on the day when there are the fewest tourists in the area, coinciding in this case with the Wednesday Walk.

A veces por las características que tenemos cada uno de nuestro propio trabajo podemos tomarnos un día libre en cualquier dia de la semana, en otros casos no es así y se deben respetar estrictamente los horarios. Mi trabajo tiene mucho que ver con la afluencia turística en esta zona de la patagonia, donde por otro lado vivo todo el año, y tomar un día franco el miércoles significa descansar el día que menos turistas hay en la zona, coincidiendo en esta caso con la Caminata del Miércoles.

It is a special day to go only a few kilometres away from my home, which is why I can easily take my faithful canine friend with me and make him enjoy this wonderful walk when the summer heat is fading (in this part of the southern hemisphere the summer heat is coming to an end), the daytime sunshine is slowly getting shorter, the sun is starting to rise later and it is getting darker earlier. The cool mornings are a relief for the rest of the day where the heat persists for a few hours and the river is a real blessing.

Es un día especial para ir distante solo pocos kilómetros desde mi casa, razón por la cuán puedo tranquilamente llevar mi fiel amigo canino y hacerlo que también él disfrute de esta maravillosa caminata cuando el calor del verano se está atenuando (en esta parte del hemisferio meridional sudamericano el calor estivo está llegando a su fin), la sol solar diurna comienza a acortarse de a poco, ya comienza a amanecer más tarde y a oscurecer más temprano. Las mañanas frescas son un alivio para el resto del día donde el calor persiste por algunas horas y el rio es una verdadera bendición.

The Comarca Andina is an area of family tourism and it is common to see numerous families with their small children, some of whom do not even walk and are transported in their pushchairs or on wheels when the terrain permits or on the backs of their parents when there is no other solution. They also seem to admire the simple wonder of this landscape, there is no crying, no noise, all humans and animals seem to be in perfect harmony with the environment, integrating into a single being where there are no differences.

La Comarca Andina es una zona de turismo familiar y es frecuente ver a numerosas familias con sus hijos pequeños, algunos no caminan siquiera y son transportados en sus sillitas o changuitos por ruedas cuando el terreno lo permite o en las espaldas de sus padres cuando no gay otra solución. También ellos parecen admirar la simple maravilla de este paisaje, no hay llantos, no hay ruidos, todos los seres humanos y animales parecen estar en perfecta sintonía con el medio ambiente integrándose en un ser único donde no hay diferencias.

The river flows in large numbers and although the water starts to get cold there are always some adventurers who jump into the water without fear. Remember that these waters are of glacial origin (they come from the high peaks of the Andes Mountains as a result of the summer thaw) and are therefore perennially cold, although on very hot days they are a perfect balm to combat the high temperatures. Another characteristic that keeps these waters always cold, although shallow, is the constant movement of the water as it flows down to the other end of Patagonia, the Atlantic Ocean.

El rio corre numeroso y aunque el agua comienza a estar fría siempre hay algunos aventureros que se lanzan al agua sin miedo. Recordemos que estas aguas son de origen glaciar (vienen de las altas cumbres de la Cordillera de los Andes producto del deshielo estivo) y por lo tanto son perennemente frías aunque en los dias de mucho calor son un bálsamo perfecto para combatir las altas temperaturas. Otra característica que mantiene estas aguas siempre frías, aunque poco profundas, es el contante movimiento ya que bajan en continuación hasta desembocar en el otro extremo de la Patagonia, el Océano Atlántico.

The trees are an ideal shelter for very hot days, and the fact of having preserved these places in the most natural way possible, means that they are only a few metres away from the beach - there are no constructions of any kind on the beach - and with their leafy canopies they offer a perfect shade to rest and recover new energies before a new plunge into the water. The gravel, the stones that border the river, the unevenness of the terrain, the fallen tree trunks are an ideal difficulty for those who, apart from or in spite of the water, want to take a walk with a minimum degree of difficulty to stretch their muscles.

Los árboles son un reparo ideal para los días de mucho calor y el hecho de haber conservado estos lugares de la manera más natural posible, hace que se encuentren a pocos metros de la playa -no hay construcciones de ningún tipo en la playa- y con sus copas frondosas ofrecen una sombra perfecta para descansar y reponer nuevas energías antes de una nueva zambullida en el agua. El ripio, las piedras que bordean el rio, los deniveles del terreno, los troncos caídos de árboles son una dificultad más ideal para quienes aparte o a despecho del agua, quieren hacer una caminata con una grado mínimo de dificultad para estirar los músculos.
