A hike amidst the tranquility of the mountain forest. [ENG/ESP]

There are people who love the hustle and bustle of big cities, chopping in continuation (if their financial means allow it) and every time they take a vacation they go to places full of people, joy and hustle and bustle.

In my case my preferences are totally opposite. I love the tranquility and peace of the place where I live and when I can I usually take long walks, in the company of my faithful friend and my wife, to enjoy the charms of a nature that still, in some parts, is totally unexplored.

There are no trails and you have to walk jumping over fallen logs on the ground.

Hay personas que aman el bullicio de las grandes ciudades, hacer chopping en continuación (si sus medios financieron se lo conceden) y cada vez que toman vacaciones lo hacen para dirigirse a lugares plenos de gente, de alegría y de bullicio.

En mi caso mis preferencias son totalmente opuestas. Amo la tranquilidad y la paz del lugar donde vivo y cuando puedo suele hacer largas caminatas , en compañia de mi fiel amigo y de mi esposa, para disfrutar los encantos de una naturaleza que todavía, en algunas partes, está totalmente inexplorada.

A no hay ni senderos y hay que andar saltando los troncos caídos en el suelo.

Perhaps we should learn, in general, that we have to learn to conscientize with the forest and not to fight it, sometimes unconsciously, as we do.

Tal vez debamos aprender, en general, que tenemos que aprender a concicir con el bosque y no de combatirlo, a veces inconscientemente, como hacemos.

El bosque andino cordillerano está retrociendo desde hace décadas. Y a eso le sumamos los incendios, muchas veces dolosos, como los del año pasado, que destruyeron miles de hectáreas de bosque virgen, nos damos cuenta a que límite puede llegar la actitud desmedida y la actitud inescrupulosa de unos pocos.

A eso se le debe sumar la despoblación de especies nativas arbóreas para construir emprendimientos turísticos en zonas de innata belleza natural.

Walking while listening to the sounds of the forest is a wonderful spectacle. The leaves of the trees and the murmur of the wind take on an unknown dimension.

In the middle of the forest no one dares to shout, it would be like breaking the charm of such a special place.

From time to time we find the course of a river that gets lost in the meanders of the forest with unknown direction. Or that assumes the turn of a tree. With some sympathetic presence that mkra us without any fear.

Caminar escuchando los sonidos del bosque es un espectáculo maravilloso. Las hojas de los árboles y el murmullo del viento asumen una dimensión desconocida.

En medio del bosque nadie se atreve a gritar, sería como romper el encanto de un lugar tan especial.

De vez en cuando encontramos el cauce de algún río que se pierde en los meandros del bosque con rumbo desconocido. O que asume a la vuelta de un árbol. Con alguna simpática presencia que nos mira sin miedo alguno.

As we walk we discover new plant species each time.

From protected species such as the cordilleran cypress, lenga and coihue to the immense richness of the Andean undergrowth.

A new species of pine called Oregon pine is causing havoc. Brought from Candá to reforest the Andean foothills, it has ended up expanding at an unusual speed, suffocating many native species.

In addition, being very resinous, it greatly favors the spread of fire and in cases of fire and difficulty the work of those who try to put it out.

Our faithful friend continues exploring the terrain and we continue walking without haste and without pause until the moment in which, our own fatigue, tells us that it is time to return home.

A medida que vamos caminando descubrimos cada vez nuevas especies vegetales.

Desde especies protegidas como el ciprés cordillerano, la lenga y el coihue hasta la inmensa riqueza del sotobosque andino.

Una nueva especie de pino llamado Pino Oregon está haciendo estragos. Traído desde Candá para reforestar las faldas cordilleranas han terminado por expandirse a una velocidad inusitada sofocando muchas especies autóctonas.

A parte de ello, por ser muy resinoso, favorece mucho la expansión del fuego y en los casos de incendio y dificultad la labor de los que tratan de apagarlo.

Nuestro fiel amigo sigue explorando el terreno y nosotros seguimos caminando sin prisa y sin pausa hasta el momento en el cuál, nuestro propio cansancio, nos indique que es la hora del volver a casa.

It is starting to get dark and it is the most dangerous time to walk in the forest.

The sense of orientation diminishes a lot with the lack of light and getting lost is normal in these circumstances.

As you walk it is always convenient to have a point of reference.

In our case, the best reference point is our beloved dog. He is never wrong. He always knows which is the right way to go home.

Comienza a oscurecer y es la hora más peligrosa para andar en el bosque.

El sentido de orientación disminuye mucho con la falta de claridad y extraviarse es normal en estas circunstancias.

A medida que se va caminando siempre es conveniente tener un punto de referencia.

En nuestro caso, el mejor punto de referencia es nuestro querido perro. El no se equivoca nunca. Siempre sabe cuál es el sender justo para volver a casa.
