Today I come to tell you about this 8-episode mini-series called Engaños in Spanish or Fool Me Once in English.
As always I'm going to give you my opinion on what I liked or didn't like about the series in general and whether I recommend it or not. With this, I want to tell you that my post will not contain Spoilers.
This series is full of mystery, suspense, intrigue, drama but most of all Lies. I think it is one of the best series that Netflix has made and you can enjoy it in just one day or maybe two since it is quite short, it only has 8 chapters as I said before, of 50 or 45 minutes each.
This series tells the story of Maya ( Michelle Keegan), a former soldier whose husband dies in rather shocking circumstances and days later, her husband is caught on camera playing in their daughter's bedroom.
So how is it that a person who died is still alive? The series hooks you from the first episode with so much intrigue. You're left there watching to find out what's going on, is he alive, is he dead, is he dead? These and many more questions will arise as the series progresses.
The cast selected for this series I think they did an excellent job, especially the main character, she gave her personal touch to Maya and knew how to capture it on the screen. I found the girl Lily charming, and it provoked me to hug her every time I heard her talk another character that I liked a lot was the one who interpreted Adeel Akhtar. He for me just like the main character stood out above the others.
The development of the series is very well handled and believe me when I say that not everything is what it seems. The ending is completely unexpected, it took me by surprise and I was satisfied with the series overall. It entertained me, kept me intrigued and I simply couldn't stop watching it.
I dare say it's as well crafted as The Curse of Hill House. And it's a series that easily stands out within the Netflix platform. This is one of those series that is not at all predictable, has plenty of surprises, and embraces intrigue from beginning to end. It doesn't leave anything unfinished either, in its time everything is explained.
This is not a typical police investigation series, on the contrary, many things happen and each one is related to the other. This detail was one of the aspects I enjoyed most about the series, which not only shows a police investigation but other quite intriguing situations related to each other.
For the performances, the story developed and everything in general, I give it 🌟🌟🌟🌟 out of 5 Estrellitas. This is a series with a lot of potential, is it worth watching? Of course, it is. For me, it is:
