Despite your best efforts, your to-do list never seems to get any shorter. It just keeps getting longer. Every one of us has made bad decisions that have killed our productivity and prevented us from working to our full capacity. There is no one to keep you responsible or ensure that tasks are completed while you work on your business from home. Prior to firing yourself, consider kicking these five bad behaviors that are preventing you from living each day to the fullest.
1 . Ditch the snooze feature: Your sleep quality decreases with each snooze button press and subsequent wake-up. Only the first, lightest stage of sleep can be achieved during those nine-minute naps. It will take you even longer to feel normal and get started on your day, instead of making you feel more rejuvenated. Decide on an alarm time that you will genuinely be able to meet. Make sure you receive your recommended 6–8 hours each night, and practice waking up feeling rejuvenated. You'll relieve a great deal of your symptoms and save a ton of time that you could have otherwise wasted trying to clear your head.
2 . Quit tracking the visitors to your website: The majority of Google search terms that users use to locate your website are hidden from you because most queries are now encrypted. Though not enough to justify reviewing your analytics daily, you can get some insights from your referral traffic statistics. A maximum of once every week, review your analytics. Make the most of your time and resources by concentrating on your blog post publishing and marketing initiatives. All that is required of you is the knowledge to proceed.
3 . Stop using your social media handles: Even if social media is a great method to connect with people and promote products, it also wastes a lot of time. The majority of users of social media do so for entertainment or self-promotion. Use your social media profile to draw clients to you rather than responding to tweets about trendy hashtags or recent events.
4 . When possible, outsource: If you're just learning how to perform jobs that aren't your specialty, like bookkeeping, you may find that they take far longer than they should. Alternatively, you might hire a seasoned pro to file your taxes accurately in less than an hour, saving you both time and money, or you may spend nine hours attempting to figure out your taxes. You may believe that you cannot afford to outsource if your income is low, but in actuality, you cannot afford to try to handle everything yourself.
- Organize yourself. You invest an excessive amount of time searching for things and replacing misplaced items when you're disorganized. Even worse, feeling overwhelmed is far more likely to occur. A disorganized workspace hinders productivity. Make a fresh start by dedicating an entire day to cleaning and organizing, and then set aside a short amount of time each day to keep your house and workstation neat and creatively stimulating.
It will feel liberating to break these five behaviors. It may be necessary for you to give up one habit at a time, so exercise patience with yourself. Keep in mind that the most powerful people on the planet have the same 24 hours, and if they can accomplish anything, so can you!
