After two days without seeing this dog, she came back to my doorstep and what I found when I went to pet her shocked me.
Hundreds of ticks were latched onto her.
Im giving her an anti tick bath and pulling some of the ticks away. This is a very delicate process and I can't remove them all at once because it might have serious repercussions to her health.
So little by little she will have to go through my washing sessions.
This was today.
I can't believe so many has gotten on her. I have never in my life seen so many ticks on one dog.
It saddens me it got this far.
Ive already given her two of these sessions. And she is slowly coming back to me. She was at first breathing really heavy and not wanting to eat. Today she drank alot of water.
Doing what I can with her and going to start asking my relatives for some pocket change to get her some medicine and the help that she needs. Hopefully they come through...
I never lost a dog to ticks. And I don't plan on this happening ever again. Not letting her out anymore without supervision. I feel terrible about this.
A dog powder which has an insecticide will make the ticks drop like ripe olives falling down after blown a strong easterly winds on a summer day.👍
Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately she passed away and is now burried in the back yard. I'll be planting two fryit trees since I buried her next to her adopted mother.
Oh gosh I just read this?! This was from the ticks? Oh damn just after you cat too 😭😭😭😭
I would assume so. Possibly her blood got poisoned and did something to cauze her to seizure and them she was out. I just laid some nutrients to prepare the soil for some new seedlings I will be preparing. Still haven't decided on what tree so I will plant some flowers for now.
I do know in people Lyme disease is very serious they were worried about me when I got a spider bite the guy kept checking if and saying we need to make sure it’s not Lyme as that will fuck up your entire life.
Flowers will be rly pretty which ones?
Good question
Respect to you for looking after her - I've also never seen so many ticks! Disgusting things.
That was just the ears! Her body is covered with it too :( but not as much as her ears. She was having trouble breathing from the inflation but she is still good right now.
Edit...
I take it back. She just had a seizure and died. Just now. I'm out for now.
Ah man, really sorry to hear that. :( You've got a good heart and did the best that you could do. May she rest in peace.
Thank you. She lived a good short life. Found her as a puppy, abandoned, alone, beaten, broken leg. Took her in, mended her leg, and everything.
Everything was good till this happened. I never grew up here so I didn't know ticks were a real bad issue. As I keep getting told now.
Going to paint my walls with cal, salt and water to get help repel these infestations. I still have 4 cats and the cayotes/dogs that love to visit still.
Omg this is terrible poor little thing I hope she recovers soon.
